I thought they should have been a bit nicer because to me, it was obvious she was trying and I thought she'd improved.

I thought Alesha's comments were fine.

It was Bruno that went a step too far. Kudos to Ann for taking it on the chin. She's thick skinned and a good sport.

I remember Brendan whisking a fragile Jo off last year following a far milder insult.

Nothing wrong with anything Alesha said to Ann, imo. Ann is far ruder every week, and her appeals to the public were cringeworthy.

Also, her criticism of the judges was hypocrisy of the first order. I hope the vile woman gets kicked out tonight - not a minute before time. She can take her gurning creep of a partner with her as well.

@jinx2 yes democracy but know exactly what you are voting for - chaining pregnant women to beds for example??

To quote the Guardian liveblog - Anyone who votes for Ann tonight after seeing Matt, Kara, Pamela, Scott and Gavin all dance superbly should have the word MORON branded across their forehead.

Agreed with Alesha totally tonight.
SB!

I actually agreed with most of Alesha's comments on everyone tonight

So your niece is one of the voters sending the rest of the dance-loving viewers wild.

If Gavin goes out tonight, I shall be very very mad at you and your niece, so be afraid, very afraid.

Ann is rude every week. What goes around comes around.
Its about time someone told her the truth.

Did you mean you did think she was rude or you did not think she was rude because I'm

I'd be interested to know how old jinx2's niece is and why she wanted to vote for Widdecombe.

Absolutely. The fawning, boot licking and scraping has gone on long enough.

What my or my nieces political views are, are nobodies concern. The only point I was making was that the Ann phone line was engaged for a long period of time.
Also regardless of who you are quoting I find it insulting that you suggesting that my niece, a child, should have moron branded across her forehead because she has empathy for someone in a BBC light entertainment program.

Not rude comments, but not smart either.”

I fear you may be right. If rumours are true then Ann has not been topping the public vote each week, but coming third. It could therefore have been possible to get rid of her this week. I did not have a problem with what Alesha said, but her credibility is limited, after last week's 9 for Scott and this week's 9 for Gavin.

This is a previous post I wrote.
My niece adores and votes for Ann and Anton every week. She is 11 years old with a badly scared upper body and arm resulting in some restricted movement. There reason she votes is because until Ann came along she hadn't realised that not everyone who dances has to wear tiny costumes and show off their bodies, similarly you can still enjoy dancing (and get a standing ovation) without having to have perfect arm and hand shapes. Watching Ann stand up for herself and also laugh at herself seems to have given my niece confidence. She starts her first dance lesson next week and it's all down to Ann and Anton.

I am genuinely very pleased for your niece.

It looks like Ann has finally done something useful. I would still like her to leave as soon as possible.

Enough is enough, the standard of dancing tonight was amazing, even gavin surpassed himself. If any of the remaining five go tonight , it will be very sad.
Along with the rest of the country,i thought anne was great.
not anymore, she should go. Next week they have to do three dances. We heard Anton say "they could all be the same".
I know its entertainment but, anne is not entertaining any more. The competition is too great.

I think it's best to leave the niece out of this. Sorry if that comes over wrong but it's not really on to discuss someone's niece, is it?

I hadn't read this before I posted. It's great to hear that she is gaining confidence.

The key word here is "competition". If it were purely entertainment, there wouldn't be winners and losers. None of the other five deserve on tonight's performances to lose out to someone who simply isn't capable of competing in any meaningful sense.

@ilovesooty a far better reply than I could make
@jinx2 good luck to your niece in her dancing and hope that she soon finds a more inspiring role model
@fredster, sorry but I have never ever thought Anne was great or even remotely entertaining.

I think she is utterly vile and it will be a travesty if she goes through, people should be rewarded for making an effort and improving. Little girls who vote for the funny lady should know what sort of person she is.

No I probably wouldn't. But then my favourite doesn't backchat the judges and be generally rude to nearly everyone around him. She deserves to get some back and it's about time the judges stopped sugar coating her dancing and started telling it like it is - like Craig has all along.
