Besides, the comment was more scathing of the costume than Ann. It was an awful "dress" that, once pointed out by Bruno, did rather remind me of a Dalek ”

well pointed out

I posted as soon as Alesha made her comments last night that there was a huge effort to get her out. As soon as she was on early that was a big clue. It is a bit like another Saturday night show they use people likes of A.W. to get the publicity they the eject them when they have served their purpose.

This. I think that the comments last night were well out of order and actually could have backfired and kept her in. Why is there any need to be so personal to a contestant. Bruce was quite right to berate Bruno for that Darlek comment.

I mean in the last week she has been called frigid, compare to a darlek in drag? That is so not on...

Anne is the worst dancer, but the comments from the judges were downright rude. You can get your point across without getting personal. I've gone complety off Alesha since she became a judge. I always thought she was a nice person, but hearing her comments week after week, what a b***h.

I agreed with Alesha (her delivery is poor tough when she is being critical she comes across as being curt - while Bruno says worse but does so with humour so he gets away with it) - however I think that Alesha should have said this weeks ago and after last year - her comments to CK - I was surprised that she did not say it sooner - I wish she would pack in this judging lark - it is not doing her any favours

I'm surprised Widdy didn't ask Alesha what qualifications she has to judge anybodys dancing and posture.

No doubt all the celebs are told not to mention her total lack of dance experiance, but someone needs to do it.

Anne could destroy Alesha Dixon in a debate, though to be fair she could destroy any of these idiot judges in a debate.

Viewers can vote for who they like - its their phoneline and their money.

And the result of that is the ample demonstration of the public preferring to dumb down the very notion of competition, hard work and attempting to learn a skill properly.

What has she said "week after week" which shows her to be a bitch? What did she say last night which was unnecessarily personal?

Before some FMs go overboard on how awful Alesha is, how rude and unnecessary and personal, or that she is a b**ch , might I just remind you of what she actually said? Transcript:

'Nice to see a lot more dance content this week, which I think you coped with really, really well. Well done on the lifts but, however, you're still hanging on to Anton for dear life, your posture is terrible and more than anything, you have no facial expression - you have no emotion...' (interruption from Ann: 'It's grim') '...it is a little bit, it is a little bit grim. I didn't see any improvement this week and I'm afraid, for me, the honeymoon's over.'

Tellingly, Ann had no come-back to that, because it wasn't rude, it was a factual opinion based on the dance. It wasn't personal, it wasn't unnecessary. I thought it was spot on and, surely, even Ann fans can't disagree with any of it.

I agree it was very rude of Alesha, Bruno was plain nasty, and Len was rude and dismissive, at least Craig was fair in his comments last night. Ann actually looked shocked by the mean comments, it was nice of Anton to give her a big hug after-wards.

Mean comments? Most of the mean comments I heard last night came from the mouth of Ms Widdecombe. She needs no protecting! She's been in politics for so long......

Just like her comment to Craig last year it needed saying!

Still wondering about the note passed to CRH though?

As peeve has highlighted in the transcript, Ann couldn't even let Alesha finish her comments without attempting to interrupt. I don't think I've ever seen a contestant who was so rude when receiving feedback.

I'm certain she's heard far worse critiques on subject matters much closer to her heart than her dancing which it seems to me she doesn't give two hoots about.

Absolutely. She's not some poor sensitive delicate little flower: you don't spend a lifetime in politics if you are. She doesn't give two hoots for the dancing or any of the rules. What was it? "How many lifts are you allowed? Three? We'll put in four if we feel like it."

I had to read through a lot of posts on this thread before I found what Alesha actually said because I couldn't remember her being rude. Now I am reminded of what she said, she certainly was not rude.

I think a lot of people felt the same way. Ann was funny, and something of a character, for a while but there comes a time when enough is enough - and we have had enough. She has done well to get as far as she has and she has also done Anton's reputation a power of good after last year, but now it is time for the good dancers to compete properly.

Its her complete lack of regard for the dancing that gets me more than anything about Ann. Its disrespectful to the pro dancers, who work so hard, and disrespectful to the celebs who are really trying to master a new skill. Objectionable woman

Then they shouldn't have signed her up for Stricly in the first place. It was obvious from the get go that she would be this year's John Sergeant.

I don't disagree. But then I'm a bit of a purist & watch SCD for the dancing, not the saturday night entertainment

I also like to watch SCD for the dancing, But the pro-dancers know what they get themselves in for, when they sign up for SCD. If they're lucky they get a celeb who actually is a good/ natural dancer:, if they're unlucky they get celebs like Julian, that Parker boy,(can't remember his first name LOL.) Graig, John Sergeant, Kate Garraday and the list goes on,.....

I know that and I'm sure they get paid all the same regardless If we're on that subject though I do think Anton is due a decent dancer. Poor fella, just because he's mildly amusing he seems to get lumbered with the sh1t dancers.
