The 'I'm ill' sympathy vote....
I am a fan of Matt but seriously he didn't need to make as much fuss... okay we get it, not his best performance but tbf none of the others are complaining....
Zayn from One Direction has been home for 4days missing rehearsals because of a family emergency and Harry also from OD has been very ill all week too..... Rant over... i think

Although I'd love to agree, I think Matt purposefully tried to comment on the illness when he was speaking to Dermot. When Dermot asked him why he looked sad (or whatever he asked), Matt stumbled and just said it was a mix of things but didn't know.
If he wanted the illness sympathy vote, he'll have said "I'm ill". It was the rest of the show which was making the fuss about it. |

Blame x-factor, not Matt. It's them who milked it.
Though I do think he looked and sounded far worse than Mary and Harry tonight. |

ID don't need to be ill, or not, as they actually don't sing, the backing vocals do that for them and if that fails they can mime.
