Strictly speaking it wasn't 40/40 but it was just so wonderful I would have given her ten!

Never in this world was it a 40/40 performance. As per usual the judges are a load of whatsits.

I never saw the stumbles i saw a flawless dance and I loved it and thought the dance was worthy of 4 10s

I don't mind Pamela getting 40/40, but when compared with Kara getting 38/40, it looks like a complete and utter joke! The scores should have been reversed or they both should have got 40/40, even though Kara's dance was superior in terms of technicality and execution.

Counldn't agree more. It was a farce the marking on Saturday night from the judges. Its almost like because pamela whom is the wife of Billy Connely and the camera always seems to go to him when she's on that she will win it because she is Mrs Connely. I hope I'm wrong and Kara wins. I also think Matt is a great dancer as well.

Irksome, isn't it? Had to keep doing a quick double take at the weekend to try and remind myself which of the two was actually competing.

I reckon they wanted her top of the leader board so that they wouldn't go out before Ann. I'm sure the BBC didn't want to risk an outburst from James. But who knows, perhaps the BBC are trying to sign Billy to do something and are trying to curry favour.

They obviously follow this board I have been quoted a few times now.

My daughter tells her friends I write for the Sun

Can no one accept that she is just a lovely dancer?

Personally, I didn't think it was..but I'm no expert.
I thought they made a mistake awarding maximum marks to Pamela, leaving themselves in a tricky postion with regards to Kara. In the circumstances, another maximum would have been fair in my opinion, but they appeared to be searching around for errors as an excuse to mark Kara down..for what reason I don't know ?”

Who are the resident experts?

No sour grapes here, just a lifetime of dancing experience and being an officially licensed Ballroom/Latin adjudicator

I realise people could just say that I'm only saying that now because you can't see much on that YT screen but ask yourself how so many different posters could attest to seeing her stumble before any clips showed up online. It was obvious on the telly. This is of course in addition to her shoulders being up and her neck being incredibly stiff throughout the whole routine. Yes, the woman's head should be in one position throughout a VW but it shouldn't look like she's just had surgery on it, which is what she looked like. Very stiff through the neck and upper back and her shoulders were constantly raised. Those are the reasons it wasn't worth 40 to me. It's not sour grapes that Kara didn't get the score Pamela got because I thought all these things before Kara even danced last night. As soon as Pamela finished I thought that she'd messed up a little. It's why when she got her score I instantly thought it was a fix and I'm afraid nothing will change my mind about that because to me, that wasn't danced perfectly, which is what it takes to get a perfect score, especially from Craig. It reminded me of Matt DA's waltz in series 5 - gifted a perfect score because they either need it for confidence or because they're languishing in the public vote.”

Totally agree with you.

This dance was far from perfect. Pamela's posture was poor and needed correcting if you are to get away with performing a very basic routine. Had she been out of hold for more of the routine, it would have been less obvious.

The footwork, that I could see, was not brilliant. She really needed to close her feet on the 3 beat. The Fleckerl appeared to be attempted but was not completed.

Hi everyone newbie here so a little clueless haha, have to say Ignazio and -Sid- i am big fan of you both as i have been following this forum for a couple of years now just not got round to making an account, i often tend to agree with you both

I am glad Pamela got a 40, i am a massive fan of hers and i do think she has been overmarked on occasion but on saturday i think she deserved every point she got, yes people say Kara was better but it is pretty hard to compare a V.Waltz and a Tango isn't it? personally i hope Pamela AND Kara can reach the final, i do not mind who else joins them but for some reason i just cannot warm to Matt, i would much rather see Scott/Gavin in the final along with the 2 ladies

hope i made a good first impression

Anyone who seems to know more than me..which appears to be a majority ot the forum.

But seriously.. there are a number of people here who do appear to have an in-depth knowledge of dancing, they use the actual technical names of the dance moves !..it never fails to impress me anyway.

You're just too easily impressed. Do we get extra credibility points if the step name is really long?

Seriously though, I think there is a limit with what Pamela can do with her neck and shoulders. When you look at her in repose, she still looks tensed up round that area. She's just built that way (or lots of exercise has made her like that) Makes me glad to be wimpy weakling. That's the difference between Strictly and real dance competitions. The physique of celeb dancers is much more varied.

Not only did PS stumble, but James was off tempo quite a lot throughout... defo not worth 40 ~ but a good effort though. More appropriate would have been 4 x 8

Hello Jack - and thanks for those kind words.

Because I read the Guardian Sid thinks that should the wedding ever take place we'll feast on lentil soup, nut roast and fruit salad (organically grown of course) accompanied by a vegan cream and the lot swilled down by home made elderberry wine, sloe gin and a toast of organic sparkling wine. He thinks all the guests will wear kaftans and Jesus sandals (has he ever been to Hebden Bridge?) and that most conversations will start with "Peace man."

What he doesn't know is that as a babe in arms many requisites (crib, christening gown etc) had seen a number of Ignazio generations. I was suckled on Bollinger, my first solids were caviar and nothing but bone china and the proverbial silver spoon passed my lips.

So if the knot is ever tied it will be done with class - guess I'm just a champagne socialist at heart.
