I don't know if anybody else has commented on this but I thought that was very unfair.

They say that the last act remains in your memory and may get more votes. Well, One Direction got the last spot in the first "round" and also in the second. Yet everybody else was jiggled around. Rebecca was first on in the first part and Matt in the second etc.

It's the one which people remember more, usually.

At this stage performance order doesn't matter. Anyway the viewers have their favourites now, 99% of all the votes will have already been decided by the viewer before the act has actually performed.

Well why was everybody else shuffled around then?

Well, at least it means they won't be closing next weekend in the final. IIRC (apart from one??) every winner has closed the show in the final.

Seeing as 1D closed last night, and Rebecca was near the end on the second round of songs, then Matt - who was on at the beginning for both his performances - should close next weekend, if he makes it.

Yeah and last night proved it's all geared for a Matt win, a boy hasn't closed the show in ages. Matt will in the final.

I thought Scowell was mainipulating it to the extent that these talentless dimwits might get to the final. Although I thought he normally manipulates it for Biffa's acts.

My own theory last night was that 1D are struggling in the voting and are miles behind Matt. There was a certain air of desperation from Cowell about putting them on last and with an emotional crowd pleaser like Chasing Cars.

A conspiracy theorist might argue they just missed the bottom three last week (a Matt, Rebecca, Cher, Wand, Wagner/Mary, Katie order last week wouldnt be beyond the realms of possibility) and Cowell desperately wants them in the final.

Simples.

To see what we (DS members) would make of it.

I would love it if they went tonight. I'd doubt Scowell would care less anyway.

Definitely : and he gave them the most souped up backing track ever for their first song last night. It was embarrassing to watch....even a ten year old could guess they were miming.

Because Simon has realized they aren't credible enough to win, they need all the help they can get.

Because they want them to win, or at least get to the finals to be a 'credible' enough act to sign and make fortunes from. 'Cos they will - make fortunes from 1D.

I think this too. Simon also pleaded for people to vote for them and stressed that they really need the votes. They must have had a narrow escape from the bottom 3 last week and maybe Simon thinks there's a chance Mary could overtake them in the voting this week.

I think there was a bit of desperation about Simon's reactions last night - I think he knows Matt will ultimately beat his miming children but perhaps there is a real risk they might not make it to the final night at all - deservedly so based on last night's performances, but certainly not in Simon's script!
