I sadly do not care who wins this year and I think thats a bit sad but there is not a single act who I truly believe is actually any good

It is all about opinions and taste at the end of the day and I find it interesting to come on the forum and see posts supporting different acts and defending them against criticism. It is amazing that a group of viewers can watch the same show and performances yet have such different views about who we like; who did well; which judge is on the money and who is talking out of their ar$e or maybe even wallet.

Going thru the acts -

Matt - I just do not get the appeal of this lad. I have even been watching youtube clips of his performances to try and see if I have been a bit quick to judge him and try to discover for myself what it is that has attracted support but sadly I just do not see it/hear it. He just isnt for me. Put him up against Joe from last year and he is really lacking but a lot of people on here do not like Joe. Like I say its all opinions but Matt doesnt float my boat.

1D - A young bunch of lads doing their best and I have nothing against them on a personal level but for me they are a bit crap. To be fair they arent aimed at the likes of me, a 45 yr old married old fart but I do object to the utter bullcrap the judges say about them and dislike the possible assistance they get in performance.

Mary - I think she shouts a bit much and for me she doesnt connect with the songs sometimes. She has some talent and I wish her well but she isnt a SuBo.

Rebeca - so very frustrating, out of all of them, for me she has potential but as the shows go on I do not think she is going to floor me the way Leona and Joe did. For me the mentor should be nurturing her and trying to bring it out but this is the fallacy of the show, it aint gonna happen.

Cher - I keep getting told she has talent, attitude and all that stuff but I cant see it. I find her unconvincing and unfortunately she does not come across very well at times.

So I am utterly underwhelmed at the final 5. Does this mean there is a lack of talent or has the show failed to either find it this year or are they just not giving the acts the right environment to shine and develop? Who knows but I am not bothered who wins cos after all these shows all they have shown me is that they are all crap and the mentors talk a lot of rubbish.

Does anyone else not give a hoot now and if so why do you feel that way?

Same here.

All of the acts this year have all been poor.

I didnt until tonight!! I now know that Cher is the best of the bunch, the ONLY act that could ever put on a great live show and have major chart success.

Against my word, I have and will vote again for Cher.

Yeah Mary getting to the final would be fun and interesting, apart from that the only hope I have is can Rebecca break loose and really be brilliant but I dont think either is going to happen.

I agree.

This year is the worst year and now with the semi-final week to show us really what they have to offer, proved just how crap this year is (in addition to the other awful weeks of horrible performances).

So was it tonight that you 'saw the light' re. Cher and want to support her. Before tonight were you a bit indifferent about her?

Yep, out of those left, she is the only one that REALLY has it going on.

I know, somethimes some of the theme weeks dont work too well, acts in other series have struggled (last year with Queen for example)but this year there have been very few highlights for me and in the past there was usually one or two performances per show that either got me excited or had the goosepimples coming. The only wow moments for me were Rebecca doing wicked Game, Aiden doing thriller and Mad World (and there was some major cringeing with him too) and Wagner doing Creep and his mad Halloween mash up, well that was me in hysterics really. Treyc got close, Paije had something but Danni let him down for me.

Fair play mate. I was doing a bit of Cher baiting on another thread so if you see that dont worry bout it, was taking the mick out of the whole competition really and not meaning to be mean to her.(Thats where the idea for this thread came, just my opinion the standard isnt too good) You have to worry bout the venom some of the acts get, just hope she comes out of it all intact if you know what I mean.

I can see the point you are making about her tho, once the competition is over its a different ball game for the acts so you might be right in what you are saying.

Not bothered about any of them. Matt and Rebecca, who I liked early on, seem to be same old same old. Mary, bless her, is really just a decent pub singer. One Direction, well listening to Cowell you'd think they were the second coming but to me they are a bunch of hamless enough lads nothing more. Cher is just a run of the mill moody little kid with an attitude.

I agree with nearly everything you have said and your criticism of the acts is very fair.
I would be interested to know what you thought of Wagner?
I thought he was the only act that deserved to win this year, he might not have been the best singer but he was the most entertaining and also came across as the happiest simply to be there.

I know there has been a lot of negative stories about Wagner and without being able to spend a bit of time with someone it is hard to make a balanced judgement about a persons character.

Having said that I initially found it very surprising he got a wild card. But he got a shot and he gave it a go. From what I saw on the show he tried his best, sometimes, well usually wih unsuitable material. I was thrilled he got to do Creep cos I thought he wouldnt be too bad at that.

I could not believe the rubbish he took off DM and CC, it reflected badly on them for me. TXF gave him a shot and they crucified him at times. When Cheryl had a go at him re the council estate thing I thought he made her look terrible. He always came across to me as gracious, polite, humble and with having a sense of humour. He gave it a go and I was voting for him and was very sad to see him go. I have to say I am fond of him and hope he comes out of this ok and reaps some benefit from it all. I would have loved it if he had won(to essentially bloody the nose of SC cos they have undermined the show for me), sadly it was not to be.

Are they not a one trick pony act too though?

I don't really care who wins to be honest but, if I had to choose I'd say Matt or Rebecca should.

How come you still support the acts from last year then? Controversial exits from last year and the year before can be remembered by some. So they are just as 'crap'.

Winning vs. coming 2nd, 3rd, 4th doesn't seem to make much difference to whether they get to make records.. and even Cowell seems to have stopped pretending it does , so why would you care?

Perhaps if the losers were punished somehow e.g. dumped in some jungle and made to eat.. oh, hang on....
