For the first time I think there are a few potential winners here this year.......
I don't remember it being like this on previous years. All the acts remaining will probably do well ....... |

Series 2 was very close, IIRC. Not just between Shayne & Andy but I think Journey South were a very close 3rd as well. Then there was series 4 which nobody thought would be close because Rhydian was expected to walk it!
I think the 4th/5th acts are 90% certain to be Mary & Cher. Among the top 3, I do think Matt is probably a comfortable favourite. But I'd certainly not put it past One Direction or Rebecca to win. None of those 3 seem to have the momentum going into the final in the way that Alexandra, Joe or Leona did. |

I have a sneaky feeling cher might get the top three ahead matt or one direction.........
Then there is always the argument....your guest duets popularity could win it for you |

My view is 1st place is guaranteed for OD to win - Matt will get 2nd place, Rebecca 3rd and either Cher/ Mary 4th or 5th

I think tomorrow's eviction is too close to call. The winner? Either ID or Matt, more likely Matt.

I think Mary will go tomorrow. I do like her but I just can't see who those songs were aimed at. I'm 51 and her cranking out a 1970s TV variety show version of The Way We Were seemed dreadfully dated and hackneyed even to me, plus I really felt she didn't do it justice, It's not the right song for her. She has her fans but the song choice and a great emotional or technical delivery is what gets extra voters to pick up the phone and that had none of that. The first song was another dated camp thing. Maybe Louis thinks she'll get the gay vote but I think that is a stereotype too far.
Cher is the only other candidate left who hit the bottom 2 previously but she sang well and her choices were good, so she'd only go out if too few people like her as a person. |

Nope. The only threat to Cardle is Cher and they're editing her so badly and giving her such bad songs and encouraging her "Bad Ass" line that she has no hope. Could be gone tomorrow. Very hard to see things turn around for her now. Evil Pratt Cardle will be your Christmas no. 1! And you thought Scrooge was bad!

I would fear for Mary and as she was in the bottom three last week. I don't want Cher in the final instead of her but I think it will happen. I've no idea next week I don't think either Rebecca or Matt have gone to another level and don't think either of them have been as good as Stacey or Olly from last year. I think it's One Direction's to win as neither Matt or Rebecca look as though they are capable of sealing it. Could go one of three ways - but if Cher did go tomorrow I do wonder if Cheryl will give Rebecca at least one under par song next week to privately side with Simon's act. I don't think Cheryl is really behind Rebecca to win like she was with Alexandra, Joe and is with Cher.

It HAS to be either Matt or Rebecca One Direct and or maybe, at a push (from the young vote) Cher.........

I agree. This year there have been several acts that I have really enjoyed watching and listening to.
I really don't mind who wins because I think that all the semi-finalists have a career ahead of them. In some previous years it has been the case of choosing one act to support and vote for. This year I have voted for three or four acts each week. Matt and Mary have been my favourites all along but I didn't feel that they were as good as usual last night and One Direction and Cher stepped up a gear. |

I think it will be very close between Matt and 1D. I wouldn't mind either winning although my preference would be Matt based on talent.

The 2007 final was nowhere near as close but in the opposite direction to what most would have expected. |

I think you are right OP. I can't call it. Matt is the obvious winner, but in reality I bet the voting is quite close between all of them, especially between Matt and One Direction. Of course thats just a guess.
I will be interested to see the eventual %'s for this series when they are released. I reckon its been fairly close for a while. |

I have a horrible feeling that if Cher does get through to the final, they will pull out all the stops to get a big name artist to perform with her. That could swing it in her direction. I would love to see Rebecca win but I can't see it happening.

Honestly though it doesnt matter - I think she will be one of those who ends up more successful than the winner, depending of course on who the winner is. |

Journey South had been leading the voting from about the middle of the contest until the semi-final, then ended up first (not that they were stitched up by their mentor or anything like that

Wonder who the duets will be? Because that could really swing it too. Kylie certainly helped Leon imo and JLS were not helped by being given another boyband where Alex had Beyonce. |
