Okay, a few things: Quote:
"So far, Katie hasn't received a penny. Simon has not given her so much as a nod about the future. Katie will have to make it on her own - the circus is over."
Just like every other contestant that's been evicted, love. Katie isn't special. She doesn't deserve anything extra than what's already been offered. And I'm sure she knew the terms of the contract full well when she was offered it.Quote:
"When Katie was booted out, Simon, Cheryl and Louis all stood up. But Dannii didn't. She is heartless.
Yeah, and not every contestant has recieved a standing ovation upon being kicked off. Maybe Dannii was still sour about Katie being there three weeks after she should have been. I know I would have been.Quote:
"Katie was due to sing last. Then it was decided that Cher was going to sing last instead. The last singer always gets the most votes.
She sang last the week before! Get some perspective here, please. It's not like she was truly ever unfavoured in the performance order. She didn't have a God-given right to get the best performance slot each week.Quote:
But Diana, 51, tells how there was no love lost between her daughter and Cher who shared a room in the X Factor house. "They're chalk and cheese - and from very different families," she says. "Let's just say that Katie is very relieved to be back in her own room."
This is awful. I can't believe she actually had the audacity to bring up family background. Katie is from a middle class family, sure. And we all know that Cher is Romany. By addressing this in an interview, it sets a very uncomfortable tone.Quote:
She also slated Matt Cardle and his family, saying: "All the families are close - apart from Matt's. They don't speak much to anybody. I don't even think he's a very good singer."
Ridiculously unture. Matt's mum is in contact with Aiden's mum, according to Aiden. Perhaps Matt's family didn't want to get involved with Katie's? From this interview, I can't think why that might be. |

That sounds to me like a compliment to Cher. ![]() For me they're similar, both coming across as whiny bad losers. |

Because of Katie Dannii lost two of her acts, I'm not surprised she didn't stand up.

Diana Waissel-Vogel-Fontaine must be a regular on Digital Spy - there's no other way to explain such a paranoid, bitter, hateful screed.

Oh dear, in a few weeks people will have forgotten who your daughter was and you'll have to crawl back under the rock you came from and make money a different way as opposed to howling to the press all the time about your little Angel, (who if you had any respect for, by the way, you would take away from the media buzz for the moment and look after her, rather than fanning the flames in the papers).
And Mrs Waissel, I can't stand Cher, but your pompous allusions to them coming from 'different backgrounds' is not just snobbish, it's rude and judgmental. Thank you. |

I thought it was appalling that they stood up tbh...she was no more special than any of the others who had been evicted

They should be grateful that the powers that be kept her in as long as they did  What a horrible-sounding family.

Ha----interesting about how Katie talks about her journey but mummy is very focussed on the dosh !!!
Typical...its probably a parental thing again with a psycho parent pushing their less tahn talented offspring into something they are ill-suited for. Also find it very telling as a family that they wren't close enough to know that Grandma was a Wholesaler in a totally different tradition to the family business. |

I dont see her disrespecting Cher's Romany background. I would have said the exact same thing. My daughter would never have been happy sharing a room with such an arrogant little madam Snobby or not I dont care. Cher is coming across as trash regardless of her heritage, If that is what her parents find acceptable behaviour and her showing no respect is fine then that is a parenting issue not one of heritage. Stop making excuses.

Two lines made me LOL
'The last singer always gets the most votes.' The term 'clutching at straws' comes to mind here. "All the families are close - apart from Matt's. They don't speak much to anybody. I don't even think he's a very good singer." Oooo meow!!! Very desperate comment. The only reason she's tipping Mary or Rebecca is because they were probably too nice to tell Katie what a tedious person she seems to be. |

Just confirmed what most say - Mary and Rebecca are the nicest people left and Matt not so nice
"She also slated Matt Cardle and his family, saying: "All the families are close - apart from Matt's. They don't speak much to anybody. I don't even think he's a very good singer." "Rebecca's super-talented and Mary's lovely. She was like a surrogate mum to Katie in the house." |

....that article contains not a single serious item to gripe about. We all have bosses, workmates, working conditions, family problems etc ...it's life .....we deal with it & not use it as promotion or an issue to sue someone just to keep your Daughter in the Newspapers. Now if she'd said that Cher had locked Katie in a cupboard in their room before her stage act then that would have made good reading and, even better, good viewing at the time! ![]()

I'm not making excuses. This woman seems to know a bit about how the media works, and how a quotation like that would sound. She didn't talk about Cher's personality, she talked about her family background. It's a dangerous path to be treading.
Her mother sounds like a nightmare. Her comments confirm what the grandmother was quoted on last week..that Katies mother wants Katie to win more than Katie. Complete showbiz parent. Its absurd she would address issues regarding money and record deals after only a week of her daughter leaving the competition. Not only should these business questions be asked privately-away from the national press-but it should be Katie asking these questions not her mother. She is 24. Its beyond unprofessional!! I think her difficult bitter mother may have ruined Katies chances of being signed by interfering. |

To be fair Katie's family have managed to do something that no amount of hype and manipulation by Cole & Cowell achieved ..... they've made me feel sorry for Katie.
Goodness gracious me, with a mother like that, no wonder she turned out into an insecure needy personality on the show. |

I don't get the bit where it said that Dannii is the only one who didn't give Katie an SO when she was booted? Unless they're picking at the fact that Dannii was likely to be sitting at the judge's desk at the time, Simon was on his feet coming off stage with 1D and Cheryl and Louis were obviously still there with katie, Wagner and Mary.
Unless I missed something? |

Pathetic is right. My God that woman is bitter. If I were in Katie's shoes I'd be more embarrassed about my mum's bitter uncivil tongue than about my nan being on the game.

I went off Katies mum when she appeared on Xtra Factor wearing a T Shirt with the name of her shop emblazoned across the front.
Her attitude was obnoxious. The next day Katie's dad was on LBC giving an interview! Pushy parent syndrome |
