I think I can begin to understand why a fashionista tore into Cheryl at a party

I don't normally think about what fashions people are wearing, but when someone as high profile as Cheryl Cole develops a reputation as a fashion trendsetter then she's fair game when she wears the sort of ensemble that makes you think "wtf has she got on?"

Last night was a case in point.

Not only was her normally tanned face bizarrely powdered to make her appear as pale as a cadaver, and it looked so inexpertly applied as to be blotchy, but she was dressed in what looked like a random pile of tablecloths and place settings. And with knobbly knees on display.

She's a mess for a young woman with all that money and help available. Julian MacDonald was spot on.

If someone tried to dress me up in that get up I'd tell them where to go, no matter how much it cost. We should give the designer the spoon.

Maybe that's what Cher was doing with hers. Someone threatened her with Cheryl's frock!

Totally agree. Though, there's a time and a place and perhaps a party in front of people was not the right time or place for Julien to lay into her.

What is more annoying to me is Simon's inability to take ten minutes to get a tailor to pin his trouser legs up to the right length.

I thought Cheryl's dress was cute, Her makeup, however, was an atrocity. I can't put my finger on it but she is physically changing in some way. It's almost like she is morphing into Catherine Zeta-Jones or something.

Was he drunk? He is a bit of an arse. Did he not say there was no place for people over a size eight in fashion? Which is a tad hypocrytical since his range at Debenhams goes up to a size 20.

The only prize she'd win is first place in a knobbly knees competition.

Awful dress. Make up was alright.. looks a bit like Dannii's did in show 1.

Dannii won again last night. Gorgeous dress, gorgeous hair and make up. Timeless!

Loved this comment on her make-up in the Guardian's live blog.

"I've just noticed that Cheryl Cole has exacty matched the colour of her lipstick to the colour of her World AIDS Day ribbon. This is either a demonstration of her admirable attention to detail or her slightly tasteless vanity."

She has a styling team

That says it all really

Its hilarious that people still think fashion is a specific 'thing'

Its not, dress for yourself Sherdill

Yes he did say something like that. I don't like Cheryl, but I think Julien is a raving bitch who would slag anyone off to get himself in the papers. We can all comment on her style (or lack of it sometimes) but to pull her up on it at a party in fron of people is out of order.

I didn't watch last night, but what's so bad? Nice smile, slim figure. I'm more concerned about Simon, look's like he's been stuffed and plonked on the floor.

I actually like Cheryl's dress looking at that pic - it could probably do with being a tad longer, but it's one of the best dresses Cheryl has worn this series I think.

I thought the same about Cheryl's make up - looked like Dannii's ensemble when she wore the gorgeous white lacy dress. But then a red lip is very popular.

I think Cheryl tries to hard to fit with what she's lead to believe is 'current'

whereas Danni trusts her own sense and [most of the time] wears clothes she likes / suits her

That's the funny thing. When MacDonald spoke to her apparently she burst into tears and ran off. Not the confident, gobby person we saw pulling up Wagner. She knows her level. Reality show contestants and toilet attendants are fair game. Her equal or better makes her go boohoo. Perhaps she should have found such backbone when MacDonald took issue with her frock.

Apparently she only told him to F Off when she thought he was joking, when she realised he was serious she bolted.

According to The Sun

It's just another example of Digital Spy sloppy reporting.

There usual cut and paste rubbish from "reporters".

I hope these people don't get paid.

I think she bought that dress at a pop up fashion shop in Manchester's Trafford Centre run by contestants from the Apprentice selling up-cycled clothing. Or from Harry 'I saw you coming' Enfield.

I'm surprised she doesn't look better with the amount of money she has, and the apparent interest in fashion she says she has.
