Its only right. We all know there's hundreds of thousands of people who milk the benefits system so glad this government is going to expose these work-shy, ****less scroungers.

IDS is my local MP and I have written to him twice, last was about 5 years ago, and both times I got 2 hand written letters back within a few days. Was very impressed.

IDS is a ****ing idiot, quite apart from the fact that this has already been covered and Wagner has fully declared what he is doing to the Benefits Agency so no "investigation" is required although IDS' suggestion that Wagner is guilty of wrongoing could easily form the basis of a defamation action and sort out any future financial problems for Wagner!

You can be unable to do one activity but unable to do another and the X Factor is nowhere near as strenuous as teaching karate which was Wagner's day job before. I know exactly what I'm talking about because I've done it , I was a karate instructor for years and have incidents where injuries like broken ribs meant I could not do it but still had to go and do my real job as a solicitor.

What happened to DATA protection?

Wagner now has a bloody good case for suing the ass off IDS for blurting out his details.

Exactly. What right has this silly old git (I mean IDS) to comment on individual cases of benefit claimants?

Yes I think you're right, I assume any investigation would be confidential.

Get him to look into Cher's plasma TV etc etc all on benefits. Mum is a carer for her dad, does anyone know what is wrong with him? He's been seen bouncing around at her auditions and supporting Cher ...........

Think what you like hes a good MP.

A year ago my Mum got a letter from the council threatening to fine her £2000 because the dustmen had reported her for not leaving any recycled rubbish out. My Mum's a pensioner, lives alone and takes anything that needs recycling to the local centre. So my Mum feelign very angry wrote to complain about it to IDS and within days he replied saying he would speak to the council on her behalf. Days later my Mum got a letter from the council apologizing saying no further action would be taken.

The fact he's doing his job in responding within a few days is hardly that impressive. It sounds like he wasn't getting many letters then if he managed to respond to every letter he received from his constituents.

As for Wagner why doesn't IDS take it up with Simon Cowell if he's so concerned about the taxpayer being ripped off?

He might well be a good MP; however, he still has absolutely no right to discuss individual benefits claimants, especially when he's insinuating that they're making fraudulent claims.

And why doesn't your mum make it easy on herself and just put out the recycling instead of dragging it all the way to the centre?

I am sure he is a good MP and I am glad he sorted out your mums problem, but he has no right to go public about somebody just because he thinks he can score some brownie points because Wagner is in the public eye and deflect some critisism from his under fire party .
Wagner was on incapacity benefit and allegedly contacted the relevant people to tell of a change in his circumstances.

Duncan Smith himself is not altogether an honest person
as In 2002, Michael Crick on the TV programme Newsnight caused some embarrassment when probing Duncan Smith's curriculum vitae, which had been in circulation for years, for example, being reproduced in the authoritative annual Dod's Parliamentary Companion for the previous ten years.
The CV claimed that he had attended the University of Perugia when he had in fact attended the Universitą per Stranieri, which did not grant any degrees at that time, and a claim that he had attended the prestigious-sounding Dunchurch College of Management turned out to refer to some weekend courses at GEC Marconi's staff college.[

He should learn that people in glasshouses shouldnt throw stones.

I assumed from the headline that some daft politician wanted to probe the show as to why a contestant got voted off - was it a fix?? But not so. I'm against benefit cheats as much as any other taxpayer is, but going about it via the press is absolutely wrong. As far as I understand it, Wagner had informed his benefit office about the show, and it's a non-story. The powers that be are aware of his situation and keeping it under review, so WHY has this idiot decided to stand on a soap box? Wagner has the right to have his affairs dealt with in private, and yes, sue the daft politician.

The moron of a Mirror reporter is no better.

His smearing of Wagner has backfired anyway, if the comments on this thread are anything to go by.

from the mirror article:
"I suspect he will find he will be asked to come in and explain himself as to why he was on benefits in the first place."
If IDS actually said this, and considering Wagner reportedly had at least two operations on his shoulder, then I have one question to ask.
Is IDS trying to imply that Wagner is like Michael Jackson and had unnecessary surgery just because he is addicted to anaesthetics?
