The sequel to The Snowman will be the centrepiece of Channel 4's Christmas programming.

The sequel will be called The Snowman and the Snowdog

Sounds good - glad it's sequel and not a remake as I first think I heard, with animators from the original on board they might capture the look and feel fairly well.

On a separate note, love it or hate it, X-Factor starts this Saturday and will be with us until Sunday 9th or 16th of December I imagine. For that reason, it kind of feels like the beginning of the road to Christmas for me.

Also, new series of Jonathan Ross starts the same night. Wikipedia has a 'Christmas special 2012' slot on the show's page but I can't find anything confirming or suggesting it'll be the case. The schedule for this series ends in October, but last years ended the same month and they still recorded a Christmas special for broadcast on the 23rd - reckon it's a safe bet then?

Miranda Hart tweeted yesterday :

"Series 1 and 2 repeating from tomorrow (fri). New series out at Christmas. (For those thinking new started this week)"

So I think we can take that as confirmation that one of the episodes will be a Christmas one!

I hate it (unfortunately the wife doesn't) but you're right x-factor and then strictly make you think of dark nights and the run up to Christmas.

I personally can't wait

Thank God!!!!! But I liked her original Autumn slot. Hopefully she means that the end of the series will be around Christmas rather than the beginning! We've been waiting nearly two years for new episodes, I hope the new series is amazing!

I'll be re-watching S1 and S2 again! For like the fifth time

It's good to see that it's Talk Talk and not M&S sponsoring the X Factor this year - maybe we'll get a good Xmas advert out of them this time around!

Thought it was always talk talk sponsoring x factor and the x factor finalist just did the M&S xmas advert. Either way, not my choice of inspiration for M&S!

Talk Talk, have sponsored X Factor for as long as i can remember, i hope we dont see another M&S X Factor Style christmas advert this year, as last years was comical somebody left, and a brand new advert came along, and seemed to alter with how the producers wanted us to vote.

Just now on Kermode and Mayo Toby Jones has confirmed that ‘The Girl’ a BBC/HBO co-production based on the relationship between Alfred Hitchcock and actress Tippi Hedren during the production of The Birds will be shown as part of the BBC’s Christmas schedule.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2132485/

Sounds a bit  but you never know.

Sounds like BBC2 to me! Or, even BBC4.

The Christmas UK website is a great idea, would love to see old Christmas continuity and ads posted on there. Is it just me or does the voice on Walking In The Air on the Snowman ad sound different to Peter Auty?!

Probably a FAQ, but does anybody know where I can get page scans for Christmas Radio Times from before 1963 or after 1985? I have a few ideas for new features for the Christmas UK website.

I'd rather watch EastEnders and I hate soaps!

Still it's a popular show but doesn't appeal to me at all.
