Anybody in Kent got it today. I live in Medway.

I really think it should be out everywhere in the uk not just some places
Yeah, I've never really understood why they sell it the same day nationwide 50 weeks of the year, with just the Christmas edition being sold early in some areas.

According to the email I received last week, subscriber copies will be sent on 11 December to arrive for the 12th. In reality, I imagine many will be posted earlier, as I received the 15th - 21st edition before the post date.

It is frustrating but it is just not logistically possible. It takes 5 days to print 2.5 million copies and because there is no post on Weekends subscriber copies dont go until all regions are ready. The copies literally come off the presses and get sent out, so thry are trying to get them out as quickly as possible.

In the days of 70s and 80s RT was printed in 4 print works across the country but they were printing 12 million copies .

Yeah, that makes sense. I suppose it's pointless waiting for all the copies to be printed before distributing them.

I'm not that bothered really. Having it this early is a bit pointless since it's not going to be used properly for another couple of weeks. I can wait a few more days.

Though if I miss out on my free Snowman activity book because I didn't get my copy until after all shops, heads will roll!

I am hoping to cheat this year and be the first lol -i work in a newsagents in Wales and have found out that the wholesaler does the London edition so i have ordered a copy and hope if it turns up on the 8th i will have it around 5am
I might beat you! My brother has taken a temp job at WHSmith distribution for Christmas! He is going to try and change his delivery route so that the Newsagent I work in gets theirs at 3.30am instead of 4.30am! He will text me when they're delivered and yes, saddo that I am, will pop into the shop much much earlier! I will let you know! It's between Mark09 and me so far!

Did any of you manage to beat the record?

Are we expecting RT 's annual price rise in January to take the magazine to £1.50 ?

The highest circulation the RT enjoyed was 9 million in the late 1950s. During a strike in the late 50s at the printers Waterlows some 9 million copies were printed at the Withy Grove plant in Manchester, then owned by Kemsley and the largest printing plant in Europe. The strike lasted nine weeks.

I'm in Medway too.

I checked Tesco Gillingham and a local newsagents, no sign of the Christmas Radio Times or Christmas Total TV Guide, both had the Chtistmas TV Times though.

Interesting. I think I read it was once printed in France because of strikes in the 50s too.

The 1988 Christmas double sold over 11 million copies, which I think was a UK record at the time. Can't imagine it has been broken since!

I thought I'd have to wait until Wednesday to get mine as I live in South Wales and we always have our copies later than everyone, but I'm heading to Birmingham tomorrow so hopefully I can pick up a copy there, fingers crossed!

I'm in Birmingham and last year we didn't get ours until Monday. I'm heading out this afternoon though to check the local WHSmith to see if there's any in.

I don't really see what the rush is, we still have two whole weeks of marked up Radio Times to go before the Christmas Edition !

Having said that, I'm excited too ..... !

Sadly no copy of Radio Times. But I did get my Total TV guide which is the one I use generally. (Couldn't possibly risk damaging my Radio Times!).

I predict Monday when I get my Radio Times.

Picked mine up today from a petrol station in Luton. As always they have that annoying holiday section bit between Christmas day and Boxing day.

Happy to answer any queries on it, over the next few days? It's a lovely mag and quite a "taking the P" article on the Downton Characters too.
Last year on the Main Channels pages 'evening' listings started at around 3pm on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and BH Tuesday with smaller photos at the top of each column. Also on these days children's TV programmes (in the daytime panel) were listed in full.

Has the same been done this year?

Do the five special days have the usuasl colourful illustrations at the top to highlight what day it is? I remember in 1990 when there were no day highlighter illustrations!
