BBC Two are going to use the same idents as last year by the looks of it because BBC NI had an advert for Ulster Rugby traditional Christmas fixtures against Irish rivals Munster & Leinster in the Pro12 and they had the logo for last christmas at the end

Has the same been done this year?”

Yip it's done again this year but from approx 4pm. But for each day not just the special ones. There is a long section on the left hand page giving details of the daytime telly.

Yes - just checked that the five special days have an old style illustration as the backdrop, whereas the rest of the days are just solid blocks of colour.

I notice BBC1 aren't showing the EastEnders omnibus on Friday 4th January in it's usual slot. I wonder if the BBC will be slotting in the omnibus every Saturday or Sunday early mornings on BBC2 with CBBC no longer being shown.

At work today we had a delivery of the Christmas Radio Times and TV Quick. I had a scan through and its by far the best Christmas programming for a long while.

I've heard from someone that there is no Top Gear Christmas Special this year... can any of the lucky recipients of the double-edition confirm whether there is a listing or not?

Thanks in advance (wish this forum had a thanks button to show appreciation for replies to questions)

The Top Gear Christmas Special has been delayed until February as they have a lot of editing to do and didn't want it to look rushed!

Instead on Christmas Day 6.25pm BBC2 they are repeating the Top Gear : 50 Years of Bond Cars.

Meaning it's no longer a Christmas special!

Two and a half hours of soaps on Christmas Day night?

On one hand it's sad that the one night of the year the main two have the opportunity to deliver something magical and light but decide to pump something bleak and depressing into the family home.

On the other at least families can turn the box off and do something the brings the family together - board games, the Wii or even just talking and laughing.

Why cant the BBC and ITV put aside their competition and deliver something that links the two like a variety show combining the talents of both stations or an 'Its a Knockout....' with each channel competing for charity?

It's because the soaps are always at or near the top of the ratings so until people stop watching them at Christmas they will always be there.

I don't watch them myself but millions do.

Fully agree with you, but sadly, Claires_dad is right. Until the viewing public stop watching this rubbish, they will be continue to be shown on Christmas night.

Can someone please explain why London gets it first before other places ? Does it get printed in London therefore London get's it first ?

Not a complaint, i've never really thought about it until now.

RT is printed in Sheffield by Polestar.I assume London is first because it's the biggest print run. Polestar has the current contract until next year.

You just gotta love this - if I was that way inclined, I could have bought every TV listing guide at Asda this morning. Except for Radio Times. And this is despite living in Peterborough!

Was in Liverpool yesterday and decided to look in a few shops to see if they by any chance had the RT. They didn't. However, I did pick up the Christmas TV&Satellite Week magazine.

Nipped out during my lunch break and neither Co-op or the local newsagents had it. I'm in Hampshire BTW.

If something like that came out I would love it. We'll be either watching DVDs or hopefully changing settings on my Xbox for American Netflix. Unfortunately the mainstream won't be doing that

Sunday Mirror had the full 12 days xmas/new year tv guide. Now off course it will never be a substitute for the RT and it's not meant to be, but it's a great guide for those looking to know what's on until the RT arrives.

No RT in East Sussex. Got TV and Satellite week yesterday.
The annoying thing is, in the 15-21 Dec issue it says on sale from 8 Dec, no mention of nationwide by such a date, even though we know its the case.

That's interesting the NI issue says that the Xmas edition is on sale from Dec 11

Couldn't get TV Times or TV & satellite Week ( the only UK guides available ) on Saturday , wasn't able to check today .
