This is my last post in the 2012 thread. Thanks to everyone who joined in with the banter, the fantasy schedules, the chat about Christmas. As usual it has been a nice thread, full of nice people, to engage in. A special thanks to Claires_Dad for organising and judging the fabulous "Guess The Cover" competition, a new addition to the discussion this year.

I hope we all meet up again in the 2013 thread. But in the meantime I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful and healthy New Year.

So what is everyone's opinion on this years cover?
One of the best ever I think.
Unlike previous years, I don't think there has been one complaint about the Christmas Radio Times cover.

So they have just announced that The Queen's waffle will be broadcast in 3D as well. However, that would normally be on BBC HD and I can't find any listing for it?!?! (Either at the same time on Xmas day or any other time.

Not the 3D version. That will be on BBC HD but it's not listed on my EPG.

So the big day has arrived. I would like to take this opportunity to wish everybody on this thread a Happy Christmas even Boyonthebridge with whom I had a dissagrement with earlier in this thread. I hope that God will give you all the decent things that you wish for and I hope that the 2013 countdown thread which has already started will be as good as this thread has been.
I hope that you will like this festive song by Nat King Cole,

How can you call that sad when this thread was opened in 2010?

The new price of £1.60 will certainly be on there unfortunately...

Here is tomorrows cover . cost £1.60. RIP Radio Times

http://www.imsyndo.com/images/IMC/AL...1301_cover.thu

That is a ridiculous price. They would have been better having 2 pages of advertising instead of the "Pick of the Week" on pages 4 and 5.

£1.60 - and they still see anything broadcast before 7pm as an inconvenience? Thank God we stopped buying it in 2010.

What are the prices of other listings magazines now?
NRG
27-12-2012
Total TV Guide recently increased to £1.10 after being £1.00 for which seemed like years - and is without doubt best telly mag, certainly for Sky listings.

RT can go stick their £1.60 mag up their jacksy.

£1.60 is pathetic. That equates to £83.20 per year! Digiguide is £9.99!!! Explains and justifies why RT is now just an annual purchase. What happened to the annual 5p increase? Surely it should be just £1.45?

Picked up the new issue of RT today, didnt even notice the price until i got home. At a time when people are having to watch what they spend, this constant stream of never ending price rises means its the last time i buy RT until christmas. A near 15% rise cannot be justified even with the usual excuse of ' increasing production costs '. If only wages kept rising by that percentage!
When you realise it was only a year ago that there was also a 20p rise, and that in just over a year the price has gone up by 33%, you can only see sales dropping.

As for the 2013 thread, its just ridiculous and no need for it before the new year. Unfortunately it has led to a number of posts like pointless thread and pathetic, which, whilst correct, you now have to scroll through. I will be avoiding for some time yet.
