A basil pesto

Hi,

I am going to make a nice soup, that requires some some fresh basil pesto, I was wondering a few things that some maybe able to help me with.

Firstly where is a good place to buy a Basil Pesto, I only really have supermarkets so one of these would be preferable?

Secondly if I were to make my own how would I go about this, what ingredients would I need (quantity as well) to make enough, I only need it to swirl on top of the soup so I don't need too much just enough for 5 - 6 servings.

Finally would I be able to use a blender as I don't have a food processor?

Thanks for any help you can give.

You can get it at all supermarkets no problems.

Making it yourself is dead easy, just basil leaves, parmesan, garlic and olive oil ( extra virgin) salt, pepper.

A blender will make it too smooth but the taste will still be there but no texture. Blending will be fine for a soup though. If you have a chopper that would be great or even pestle and mortar.
