Celebrity Duets - a bit fishy!
Have never really thought about this until now. But when the producers of the show are booking celebrities to duet with the finalists for the live final, surely they would have to have them booked weeks in advance, no?
And if this is the case, then by that reasoning, the 3/4 finalists would have to be already decided long before the semi-final? I can't see them ringing up, for example, Jay-Z and having him on standby to duet with Cher, should she make the final. I'd imagine he'd tell them where to go. Nor could I imagine the producers scrambling to find available celebrities, giving them just a week's notice for the show. Because they wouldn't get the people they want. What are other people's opinions on this? |

My opinion is that yes, they are booked well in advance but they probably 2/3 of the celebs or in this case maybe 3/4, are artists that could be paired with a number of celebs. Eg. If they book Leona, they know they can pair her with virtually anyone; Matt, Aidan, Treyc...
But they'll try forecast 1 or 2 people that will make the final and choose artists specifically for them. Eg. Booking Jay-Z with only Cher in mind. They know if Cher goes, they cant pair him with Mary... I'm guessing when guest artists were being booked, Cher's outlook was a lot brighter. |

A few years back I remember reading they had James Morrison booked for Diana Vickers.

Maybe they've got Dexy's Midnight Runners lined up for Cher.

My guess is that nobody, but NOBODY would be willing to duet with Mary. Even Ian Paisley would make his excuses.
