Shame on you Danni, I always thought you voted the right way and not the way you are told to.

Very disappointing.

Although I personally prefer Mary to Cher I can see why Danni, who has always supported both, would opt for the teenager with her future ahead of her. Mary has the strength of character to take the 'rejection' and get over it: she will have no trouble picking up a record deal because there isn't much competition in what she does. I don't think that's the same for Mary.

Anyway it's Dannii's choice, I'm sure she doesn't like doing it. And neither Mary nor Cher have been going to win the X Factor for some time. Barring accidents, Cher will be first out next week.

::shrug:: I like Dannii and I'd have voted that way too.. wouldn't buy anything by either of them but thought Cher was marginally more entertaining and would have sent Mary home.. oops, I mean transparently voted for Cher to stay.

Why. She voted to save the best act.

Cher was far superior to mary.

She needs to get Ethan away from Cheryl's evil clutches ASAP. Cos I've heard Simon and Cheryl want to adopt him.

Don't particularly like Cher and definitely don't like Mary's shouty singing but have to say Danni made the right decision, Cher did sing much better than Mary.

Dannii made the right decision because Cher's got way more potential!

really don't think it was Dannii's choice tbh. I'd say Simon is the only one who gets any real say in who is eliminated each week.

Plenty of other threads with the same topic - forum is manic as it is - why clutter it up even more

I agree, listening to Mary, I had to turn down the volume on my telly.

In the main show, Dannii said she likes Cher most when she sings a ballad. Cher sings a ballad in the sing-off and wins Dannii's vote.

Pretty straightforward, if you ask me. No need to "return to Australia and hang her head in shame". I think you might be overreacting.

I don't get that impression. I don't think she'll lose any sleep over it. And as for her Jedward axe last year - it was either that she was just so out of touch she was oblivious to how she was spoiling everybody's fun, or she actually relished it.
The kindest thing I can say about the woman is that she just seems to have an unfortunate knack for making unpopular decisions.

I'm not suggesting that she should always just go with the populace, but she really does always seem to play the part of the grim reaper.

I would have expected Danni to vote for Cher over Mary as I think that much as she admires Mary she prefers Cher. I personnally much prefer Mary but Danni is allowed an opinion.
