What penitent punishment he endured. He must have paid all debts by lifting Widdy to such heights.

And has been as gracious and pleasent with Ann Widdecombe as is possible. And all that nastiness from last year if forgotten, he'll take over from (Sir) Bruce Forsyth as the host of SCD for 2011.

IMO.

Either that or he'll get a decent partner next year. I agree with you though, that this year was penance for last year. i think he's learnt his lesson; he'll never make that mistake again!

I can't see Anton getting a really decent partner ever on Strictly because the producers know he's not that great at latin. Same with Erin. It's why when they've had quite decent partners (Laila, Austin, Colin) it's never resulted in them winning, because they can't push them far enough in latin. It's just my feeling anyway.

Anton never had it so good as this year - if that's penance, they'll all be combing Westminster for a partner next year.

He was able to show his inventiveness, choreographic skills, comedic and personal dancing talent off to its best advantage with no fear of being penalised for it.
He wasn't going to get the Glitterball but he's a household name now even amongst the non-dancers.

Bet his Tour is a sellout twice over next year - Oh and, well done that man!!

I can't imagine Anton ever being given the glamour girl because now Darren has gone I don't think there is anyone who would be as gentle with the mature non-dancing lady.
Also (though as I type this I'm hanging my head in shame) I can't imaging Strictly without Brucie however would love to see more of Anton away from Strictly. I've watched him on a couple of panel shows and enjoyed his sense of humour.

What punishment? I think he's done quite nicely out of it.

I do too. Of course it wasn't planned at all

All Anton did was drag her around. I fail to see how making a mockery of the show is a good thing.

I think it's significant that he didn't attempt to do the Latin dances with her at all. It shows Anton's contempt for the Latin dances and highlights the fact that it was never Ann's intention to actually learn how to dance. Why appear on the show at all if you aren't willing to play by the rules?

I hope Anton does leave soon. His Latin is terrible and he always looks like he's a reject from the 70's.

Anton is a strong character-type so I think he is a net contributor to the pro dancing team. He's done his community service for last year's crime and I'm glad he's been forgiven - speaking as one who is no stranger to regrets

I been disappointed with the pro dances this year and it's partly due to not knowing some of the dancers - the newbies haven't even been introduced, have they?

Asking John Sargent to compete was a bit of an unknown.Fair enough

However if anyone is making a mockery of the show it's the producers. Asking a very short, very very overweight 73 year old who leads a very sedentary life leave one to question their judgment.More importantly their motive. Is this a strictly dance show or mere entertainment fluff?. With the addition of Anne the answer seems quite obvious to the shows owners at least...
Anton worked with the tools provided and played to their strengths

I'm sure it was meant to be penance. I'm sure plenty people think he's done the time for the alleged 'crime' (of which I was never convinced).

His choreography, designed specifically to take the pss out of Ann, I found embarrassing and impertinent. He wasn't awfully high on my list of favourite media personalities but he has slipped even farther down. (After he fronted a programme about making yourself the same shape as a hole in a wall, I didn't think there was much farther to go but I find there is.)

However, as he laughs all the way to the bank, I'm sure my opionion of him is utterly irrelevant.

She's 63. Two years older than Pamela and a year younger than Felicity.

63 ???? She really let herself go. I'd say she's over 70. My grandma looked better at 75.

I never thought of him as a sinner. If you're presented with a partner such as Anne you have to think of ways of dealing with it. Don't blame him at all only the people voting for them!

She looks far better now than she did years ago.

Was actually anybody still holding the grudge? He made some controversial jokes last year, but I thought it was all behind us.

Anton behaved like a saint throughout. I have now almost forgiven him for his comment to Laila.

Anton's back still needs some attention - I saw how he grimaced with the final lift.
