Costumes and Make Up
number six

I really hope that the costume department pull out all the stops and produce some nice costumes for the next series. I know it must be hard coming up with original ideas that can be incorporated into an ice skating routine....they can't have long dresses like they do on SCD for obvious reasons. Most of last years outfits weren't that brilliant and I couldn't understand why they put Sharron Davies in a swim suit every week. When you see Ice skating competitions some of the outfits are stunning, so here's hoping we see some nicer costumes.
And I hope who ever has the key to the glitter box loses it so the girls aren't caked in heavy glittery eye make up!

Apparently, Sharron Davies specifically asked for swimsuit type costumes as she preferred them. Presumably the familiarity of the style made her feel more comfortable and confident. I think the viewers might have preferred hotpants type swimsuits rather than hi-cut ones but it was her choice.

I hadn't realised that Sharron Davieshad asked to wear those costumes, they made her look very gangly and I am sure that she would have look nicer in something different, but I would imagine that once she had made her mind up, woe betide anyone who tried to change it!

They always do a great job and I don't think this year will be an exception to that rule.

Given that she's a swimmer, I can understand her feeling more in her comfort zone when in swimsuits rather than skating dresses but I still think hotpants might have been a good compromise. I don't know if it was suggested or not, though.
