Does anyone know if there's any truth in this rumour? I know it does the rounds every year, but I'm really hoping that this is his last series. I've always liked Bruce on everything else, but I loathe him on SCD.

Time for a change?

I get the feeling he's had enough and he doesn't like some of the changes.
But like or loathe him, it wouldn't be the same without him. Some of the "pantomime element" would be lost and the latter is part of the appeal for many.

I hear The Chuckle Brothers are available.

I haven't heard that he is, but I'm sure that will be the case. His not doing the results show this year is almost certainly a way of easing him out gently. Probably at his wish. I love him and don't want to lose him but there's no doubt he is getting worse and worse. If only they'd just let him ad lib instead of having to read those stupid jokes out, he'd be so much better.

Hope my other theory isn't true - that is that this year's fiasco with Ann was a way of introducing Anton as his replacement!

i've always liked brucie, even on strictly, but i think time is catching up with him.not just him though, the producers need to do some serious thinking about the show as a whole.

I really hope he is going at the end of this series.

He has struggled to cope this year.

I've always like Bruce, but on Strictly, his 'jokes' and the show stealing drivel makes me angry - especially when he interrupts the judges or talks himself for so long that they all don't have chance to comment

However, I have heard all sorts of terrifying rumours of who could replace him - including Vernon Kay

I really like the DWTS style of presenting - no jokes or nonsense, just introducing the performers and letting them get on with it.

And another thing - why did Tess say thanks and goodbye to Claudia on the results show??

I noticed that - perhaps she wanted to get it in last night as next Sunday is the last results show to be shown on a Sunday and she might have forgotten/not had the chance to do it next weekend.

I wondered whether Brucie is going to do the results show as well as it is the semi-finals. Does seem to be a shame for Claudia though.

That's another possibility, yes. I wonder whether he could cope with both (pretending to be 3) nights...?

Interesting as I think it's better with Brucie and that the bloke on DWTS is really really dull........

Not the two of them with the "affected" northern accents when it suits them, but which disappear when they get excited or have to talk rapidly.

It might be dated but there is a British tradition of corny jokes and then making fun of a joke that you have just told. It does not always work but he is head and shoulders above today's stand-up comedians who just about to a man are not funny to many (most?) people.

Bruce Forsyth might not be ideal but I can't think of anyone who could do the job better. I would probably just stop watching if some of the names I have seen mentioned took over.

I wouldn't be surprised if Terry Wogan took over.

Ever since speculation about Bruce leaving started years ago, I've wondered if Anton would take over.

Well, he always took the p*** out of Come Dancing whilst wearing that naff dark green velvet jacket in his small part on that programme, so I guess he'd be right for the job.

But he's as doddery now as is Brucie, from what I've seen of his post-career "band-wagon doubtful product TV commercial aimed at susceptible old people," that many of his contemporaries now make for various companies.

Anton's the best choice, but there's not many I'd think could step into Brucie's shoes without what character the show still has, changing for the worse.

Why does that SO not surprise me?

Just for fun, I've been thinking who else may be in the running. How about Julian Clary, or Graham Norton. Mmmmmmmm - guess that would be too many gay men on the show (if the judges stayed the same) for there to be a balance.

I like Graham Norton a lot. Think Clary would be a bit too camp, but I've also heard John Barrowman's name mentioned.

Wogan?? As bad as, if not worse than Brucie!

Barrowman is far too busy..................
