Love them both, but Tess has had a shocking year for her, not up to her wonderful standards of previous series, and Claudia really hasn't worked well on the results show.

Now there's a thought!

Why are most of the men mentioned gay?

Bruce Forsyth might not be ideal but I can't think of anyone who could do the job better. I would probably just stop watching if some of the names I have seen mentioned took over.”

Corny jokes i can take, but last series there were far too many 'bad taste' jokes (such as Jo Wood 'losing a stone', and there was also a reference one week to Brian and Ali having a relationship). I haven't listened to Bruce and his introductions for most of this series, but I have no reason to believe that the dubious taste jokes have stopped.
It's bad enough having open-mouth-wide-and-shove-in-two-left-feet-Daly (Matt D'Angelo and Flavia, anyone?) without Bruce joining in.

Actually I think Paul O Grady, Graham Norton or Anton would work. Chris Hollis isn't a bad suggestion either. I like the Barrowman but I think he'd overwelm the show.

Maybe they should have a sports commentator because I am sure all those are heterosexual. <shrugs>

How about just not bothering with this rubbish next year, Its overdue for retirement like Brucie.

I think Anton has gone a long wat to redeeming himself from last year - he will earned points for that- but I don't think he is cut out for presenting.

If Bruce goes then maybe Tess will follow

I would like Chris Hollins and Claudia

... Howsabout Matt Baker - as he seems to be presenting EVERYTHING else on the Beeb!*

*This is a joke.

The fact that most of us are still discussing it would rather undercut that arguement really.

Now there's a thought! He would be better than John Barrowman, definitely!

Please, not Julian Clary or Graham Norton.

I think, if Brucie gets his knighthood this New Year, then he will retire! Just come back for specials etc.

In my opinion, Chris Hollins but especially Anton du Beke would be ideal too!

I heard this rumour recently. I was told that John Barrowman is in the pipeline to take over. I am not sure if this is true. Personally I would like to see Anton hosting if he felt that he could stop dancing.

I think Michael Ball would be great. He knows how to be serious when he has to but has a good sense of humour. He's also very professional. It looks like ITV have copped him though - he's guest presenting in place of Lorraine and has a new series commissioned for February. ITV know a good thing when they see it!

I do like John Barrowman but I think his personality is too overwhelming, attractive though that personality is.

Graham Norton would be 100% professional - he's a very good presenter but he's done such a lot of presenting a change might be nice.

Kate Thornton? In my opinion, she's too bland. Claudia - lovely but too scatty.

I agree though - next series should see Brucie retiring full time, the strain's really showing now.

13 million is not a rating of a series due retirement.........

I think Michael Ball would be great too, shame that ITV have nabbed him - what about his Radio2 show, is that going?

Anyway, I also think Aled Jones would be a good replacement and I wouldn't even mind (whispers) Anton

How reliable is your source please? I am fast coming to the conclusion Anton would be preferable, sigh.....................

I agree. The ratings say an awful lot.

I've read that Aled Jones has morphed from choirboy to quick wit in recent years, though I've never caught him on TV to check. Any comments on this?

Well, I've seen him on a few things. Presenter on Escape to the Country etc. Nothing wrong with him at all, but a little too bland and "nice" for my tastes.

I would suggest he is far too busy working on tours and albums and religious shows and for Radio 3, but it is a very interesting idea!

I really think Aled would be good (if he had the time) - personally I think that he would have great insight and emapthy with the contestants being an ex contestant, and he really does seem to enjoy the show whenever he's on ITT.

He's grown into a really good presenter and I think could pull off live TV no problem - he's currently presenting the Sarak Kennedy slot on R2 in the mornings and has alot of live radio experience.

Michael Ball is still doing the radio show now and again but I'm not sure of the date when it's back. He's touring in Hairspray just now so I don't suppose he's available for it at the mo.

Aled Jones? Yes, I can see that one. I like Aled, he's personable without being "me, me, me".

I've been on a live show presented by Aled Jones - he's excellent at capturing the attention of the audience. Highly professional and very quiet and nice to absolutely everybody behind scenes. Wouldn't call him "bland" at all. He does more than "Songs of Praise" where the f word and jokes about Jewish mothers in law might seem a tad out of place.

Nah, not Aled Jones , everytime I see him I feel as if I should whip out my Hymn Book I would go for Graham Norton, imo he was excellent as presenter of dance fever.
