Oops I meant Ali Bastian!

I'm reading a book that makes reference to Twelfth Night so I had the character Sebastian on the brain.

Artem stamped his feet as well at the same time as Kara. It was on a music accent, so it was quite obvious it was part of the choreography, and not a technical point.”

Unfortunately that still doesn't make it right!

I love Artem, and truly think his choreography and ideas are second to none, but also feel the years he spent as a show dancer, as opposed to a Latin/BB dancer, means he sees the showmanship of a dance as having priority over technique.

I'm not sure he is so wrong - he might be upsetting the judges, but he is a crowd-pleaser, and the viewer's votes are important.

Must say can't wait to see their showdance, where there's no holds barred!

That would imply that Kara would have to deliberately disobey her choreography to dance the tango correctly. How could she possibly do that ? Len's problem with Kara could well be down to Artem's innovative and hence anti-traditional choreography. But I still think it's absurd to penalise an amateur (albeit a very good and talented amateur) for accurately performing steps devised for her by a professional dancer and choreographer.

I agree with Kaycee. Artem does have to walk that fine line between pleasing a traditional judge and those fans who want to see proper technique and wowing the crowd with his innovation and risk taking. Hopefully he will get the balance right as he is new and realising that he has to appeal to both. I do think that Artem has been classy (as opposed to weirdness) with his choreo even when it has not been traditional.

I believe that Len sees the celeb as part of the couple and a team. He will punish a celebrity with low scores for a pro's choreo (the 6 for being out of hold was definitely a statement and I remember the 5 he gave to Dmitry and Mya for a beautiful waltz that unfortunately was out of hold). It is just the way he scores. I tend to think that Len's harshness with Kara is more about Artem's choreo than Kara's dancing but that just a personal opinion.

she was standing on a chair i never seen any of the other celebs do that..if she had a bit of a wobble who cares..didnt really see it myself..worthy of full marks but as long as they are in the final thats all that matters in the end!

True, but what I took issue with was you suggesting it was a mistake on Kara's part rather than Artem's.

I love Kara but Craig was right, she did wobble. Did no one else see it? I think she ran up to near the judges and spun round, and wobbled as she put her arms out. Its near the beginning.

It was only minor, you can't see the feet but can tell by her upper body that she's wobbling. I've noticed it every time I've watched and it does stop it from getting a ten from me either.

But she has deserved so many tens in the past!

Which still has nothing to do with the vast majority of TV viewers not reading forums or having the vaguest clue about all the conspiracy theories. My mum's an avid SCD fan and she's not got a clue about what goes on in the papers or on forums like DS and she's just one example.

I did see the stumble from Kara, but it wasn't “hideous”, just a mini wobble - at least from what I could see. The camera work did inadvertently cover a lot of it up. I also saw a wee stumble from Pamela, that, due to the camera work looked more obvious than Kara's, but as has been said, I think James was between the judges and Pamela.

But honestly, whatever, they were both stunning dances, and both deserved the excellent scores they got.

Exactly, thanks for pointing it out.

Tabloids seek polarization, as that makes tabloid-esque stories. The middle ground, which is where most people are, doesn't make such salacious writing, lol. Where would a journalist go to find that polarization? A niche community of obsessive fanatics, lol.

It never ceases to amaze me that some people take tabloids literally and believe it word for word – or even worse, take it as some form of authoritative writing. Stories of that ilk rarely represent the majority, the minority or even the niche group they stole the quote from. Tabloids rarely represent anything but their own manufactured controversy.

I haven't commented on this thread until now because I wasn't sure that I missed the hideousness in my rewatches of the dance, but I can't see any big wobble at all. The most noticeable thing is when Kara gets her dress caught in her heel, but I think she carries on very well and you won't notice if you weren't looking. I think Craig got carried away with the emotional content and context of Pamela's dance and couldn't help but give her a 10. Kara, imo, deserved a 10 too.

I agree totally - both ladies delievered the best two dances of the night, provided top drawer entertainment and were marked as such and both deservedly are stil in the competiton. Regardless of which dance was marked better is a matter for the stats and honestly who really cares about them anyway.

I like both women and am looking forward to seeing them both on the tour. I think Kara should win but was watching the Jamela interview clip including a meledy of her dances up to the VW apart from the charleston which I wasn't struck by (but I think was probably stil the best of a bad night) it reminded you how good they all were. It's very exciting to have a geunine battle by four talented people this weekend.
