Windows phone 7 battery life?
Has anyone else got this issue? Charged my HTC Mozart last night for 8 hrs, took it of the charger this morn and instantly the battery dropped 10%, After coming from an Android phone I know all about turning wifi of, so I had 3G turned off, screen low, wifi off, bluetooth off, location services off, I made no phone calls, but I did listen to the radio 5 hours, battery died at 1pm
So thats 6 hrs use I got until phone turned off, Very poor, infact worst battery life I have ever seen from a phone, and thats without playing with it.

That's definitely not normal. You should be able to get a day out of it and that's including some 3G data use etc.
Take it back maybe. |

My Mozart would probably last for 2 days with 3G on, 2 push e-mail accounts and light usage if I tried it. It has been on for 8 hours now and is still showing about 85-90% battery life. However using the radio will cause the battery to drop much faster, as will listening to music.
However 6 hours does seem a too short, try just leaving it in standby for a few hours and see what happens. Also the WP7 battery indicator seems a little exagerated towards to top end, the first 5% seem to vanish in less than an hour but after that it drops very slowly (from my experience). |

As above to the OP but I'll add, take it back definitely.
Irrelevant sidetrack follows: On another note, I want to buy a WP7 handset but don't know which one. Purely on hardware I'm waiting for the Dell. But when I look at things like network, price etc it suddenly gets a lot more confusing. There are some decent deals on the Trophy and the Mozart. The Omnia 7 seems expensive everywhere. My budget phonewise has reduced. I'm going to wait for the second generation hardware which hopefully will come quite soon into 2011 and hope for some really compelling stuff. Like with android, it's obvious where each handset sits in the line. Top at the moment is Galaxy S and Desire HD (Nexus S not launched yet), then there are more budget options like the San Fran. When multiple operators offer multiple handsets then we'll actually have something called handset choice. Bit limited at the moment. |

Get me a good satnav on a phone (even third party app or Bing Maps navigation), and the portable wifi hotspot that came in with android 2.2 and I'll finally be able to get off S60 onto a modern phone. |

Could you check out and report on Orange Maps for me please? Orange advertise the phones as having it but I read somewhere they don't have it yet and will get it soon.
