Me too. I started this thread because Pammie drives me to distraction the way she drags her professional life, or her husband, or her kids, or her LA friends, into pretty well every sodding thing she writes. This is such bad form, and very unlike the majority of the rest of the celebs. And as for the fun-and-flirty 'relationship' with James - it leaves me speechless with distaste. As indeed do her sex columns in the Guardian.

As you may imagine, I hope very much to see Dr Pam depart this weekend but I fear the judges' inexplicable favouritism will see her through.

Does she not realise that this sort of stuff alienates the voters? Not many, admittedly, since it's in the Grauniad.”

It's really naff to use your title outside of your professional life. It reeks of insecurity. I'm amazed this character has so many fans. I can only assume they don't remember what a tiresome and unfunny figure she was in the days when she was trying to seem 'zany'. Mel Smith's recent comments about her said it all.

Perhaps. They also said a great deal about him as well.

For a really top-class hatchet job on Dr P, see Germaine Greer in the Guardian a few weeks ago:

Same here, I hit the mute button whenever she is about, I know nothing whatsoever about her private life, and am not the least bit interested in anything she has to say. Not a big fan of her or Billy.
Having said that, she is doing very well with the dancing and I wish them luck for the weekend.

I think its quite telling that many of the people she has worked with or known in the past aren't great fans of hers.

Personellement, je crois c'est merveilleux que sa caractère un peu pointue est la seule problèmatique sur laquelle autant des frappes sur clavier sont dépensées.

She's younger than I am. By the time you have 6 decades under your belt, you cease caring about what other people think of you. Have read a few of her columns - at least the grammar and spelling are OK, and much of the humour is truly tongue in cheek. Imagine being married to the Great Yin if you were a shy retiring wallflower!

I could feel the venom spitting at me through the screen when I read that article. Pamela doesn't seem to actually done anything to upset her either. If I had a choice of going to dinner with Germaine Greer or Pamela Stephenson, I'd choose Pamela in an instant because as far as I can see Germaine Greer is just a misery guts. I've always wondered why some people this Germaine Greer is marvellous.

I think Ms Greer is envious that Pam chose a better reality programme to go on. Germaine's sojourn on CBB was a triumph IIRC.

well, I guess her being more sucessful, having a higher profile, a great marriage and having managed a fairly significant career change niggles them

Has she though? I guess its easy to put all criticism down to jealousy. I would have thought Germaine Greer had a much higher profile than Dr Pammie

Oddly enough so would I , altough I am not a fan of Pamelas at all and would be first to say it .I could spend an hour or two with her.But not with Germaine Greer who I find very difficult to listen to as she is so negative .If nothing else at Pamela is positive and enjoys life, Greer seems to hate everything and everyone .

I like Pamela's fearlessness. She's a larger than life personality

Exactly. Pamela would be fine in small doses.

No pammie profile a lot higher than Germaine... especially in Hollywood for example.
I do rather like Germaine but she can be a spiteful bitch

Sorry, don't believe in Homeopathy.

Rentagob vs. Pseuda, who will win? Haven't read her column for months. I guess there's a bit of name dropping, some pseud psycho-claptrap and a lot of hot flushes. Soon to be writing "The unbearable lightness of being (lifted)"

But only because of her husband I suspect, which isn't Germaine's style at all.

Germaine criticises women, whatever they choose to do. If she is so fulfilled and enlightened herself, then she shouldn't feel the need to slag off other women at every opportunity. It just comes across as bitterness.

Matt - like him seems normal, under plays himself alot.
Kara - plays the giggling flirt.......not too keen on that...
Pam - funny and I think she is amazed at what she has managed to do keeping up with the
young ones.at 61 Ouch.
Scott - Sees himself as good, but has failed more than the rest has.
Gavin - nice to look at has a weird personality, can't dance.

Erm ...I read the Guardian and Pamela is my least favourite.

Please don't take it upon yourself to speak on my behalf.

Ignazio, you mistake me. I too am a Grauniad reader but I assumed, wrongly it seems, that not many of Strictly's fans would be. Sincere apologies.
