I see that Louis wants Nigel Wright to produce an album for Mary. Hopefully in that case he'll be FAR too busy to produce one for the twins

And Jeds for Eurosong is definite - great news!

Nigel Wright can produce any number of naff cover songs in his sleep, being busy with Mary won't stop him, unless the twins have tracked down decent producers of their own - which is my secret fantasy!

Marc this means we have to find Eurovision song contests message boards and talk up the twins! Anyone else on board with this mission?

OMJ this is going to be a job and a half. I'll have a look on the DS eurovision thread.

I just hope this Caroline woman who is mentoring them can find them a decent song for the competition. It is a song contest after all and that is what Eurovision voters are expected to vote on,not on their favourite act.The twins' chances would be vastly improved by a strong catchy song.

god could you imagine it if she found them some dirgy ballad. although perhaps they could have a traditional irish twiddly dee number and get their fiddles out. that would be unexpected!

It needs to be a proper up tempo pop song. Not a novelty song like Dustin the Turkey (though I liked that one....thought it was funny) proper take them seriously pop song. They can do it for goodness sake! I've seen them live enough times now!

Please do post on here more!
Don't want people thinking they aren't loved!

It seems the twins have got the best Eurovision mentor thing for ESC! People looking for and writing them songs! I'm getting quite excited!

Video here: in Buzz Lightyear outfits.

Apparently Louis will be making some sort of big announcement on Xpose tonight. Bookies have stopped taking bets on the Jeds representing Ireland for Eurovision

Some Russian actor tweeted a picture of him and Jeds at the Mayfair saying how nice they were, he was surprised some of his followers already knew who they were.

I'm actually really excited

I wonder what Louis can possibly have to say? I mean, people seem to think it's definite anyway.

I don't see what else it could be though. I'm excited too, it'd be SO disappointing if they didn't win the selection process though, hopefully a way could be found for us in the UK to vote for them as well

I have many Irish friends now, I shall pay them to vote for me
They need to get thru the selection process!
Unfortunately they still have a lot of haters, but maybe with a good song people would be won over on the night of the Late Late Show and will see they CAN do it!

Would be hilarious if they went with the usual twiddly dee Irish folky song and made the boys get their violins out for some twiddly bits! But I think a get up off your chairs bouncey pop song is probably the way to go

it's probably eurovision related but maybe it's to do with Mary and he's signed as her manager or she's got a record deal or something. Hope it's to do with Jeds though. I really want them to do Eurovision . I'll be real dissapointed if they don't get through the selection process,. they must have an excdllent chance though. It's such an excellent platform to launch them in Europe!

Eurosong 2011 will be decided by 50% televoting and 50% regional juries. The twins will win the televote by a landslide. The key thing will be how they perform with the regional juries.

Would still be a major upset if they lost Eurosong though

I'm nervous already! I don't think Louis would put them in for it if he thought they wouldn't get picked and they must have a really good chance but I'm nervous all the same. Louis seems to be trying hard to get them a really good song , so hopefully one of the song writers he has approached will do the business!

Apparently Andy McCluskey from OMD was approached : he's a great songwriter....I have all their abums from the 80s

I posted this on JG forum but I'll put it here too, assuming they get through national selection the semi finals are going to be hard as they may well be in the semi where the UK can't vote

In semi-finals only the countries participating can vote plus 2 of the big 4 -UK France Germany Spain. Which semi-final the Big 4 can vote in is decided by draw. And you always get all the Balkans voting for each other etc, last year some good and well regarded entries didn't make it through the semis.

We will have to put our thinking caps on (if that stage is reached) to try to get european fans mobilised somehow.

Oh by the way if they're representing Ireland then I'm definitely supporting Ireland this year. Especially if Charlotte Church is our uk entry!

Lovely article Linda Martin sounds really nice and at least we know there's been some rehearsals

So how does the semi final vote work? I've never paid attention to that bit before? I like to be surprised/horrified on the night.

The boys do have a bit of an advantage as they do have small pockets of fans in just about every country, and we are all well trained at promoting them, and used to touting for votes, plus the boys are "shameless self promoters"

But we have to get them thru the Irish selection process first. I think they'll win on the votes, just have to see what the juries think, I reckon with the right song and more than half a day's run thru for a change the boys could convince a lot of people they can do it!

I think they've been quiet on Twitter cos of rehearsals. It's nice when people mention how professional the boys are.

Well all countries apart from the Big 4 and the host (which is one of the Big 4 anyway this year) have to go into the semi finals, only those countries participating in each semi can vote in it plus 2 of the big 4 which is decided by draw. Next year there will be 24 countries in the grand final, 4 of these being the big 4 so each semi will choose 10 finalists. So far 41 countries have applied so there are 37 to sing in semis so at the moment it would be 1 semi of 19 and one of 18 of which 10 to go through to finals.

In 2011 the semis will be on 10 and 12 May with the final on Sat 14 May. If you're not a diehard fan you probably don't watch the semis I don't think they are usually shown on BBC1 normally they are on BBC 3 or 4 I think.

I'd hope Louis's influence might help get them votes from the regional juries. I'm sure he and the "shameless publicists" will be doing all they can.

According to Linda they've been rehearsing day and night. So they won't have had too much time for twitter, because if they're going to SA on the 14th which someone said,it doesn't leave that much more time for rehearsing. They ARE professional we know that, but it's nice when others realise it too.

Yes, I'm familiar with him. I'm sure he could write an excellent song for them.
