Hi, i'm three weeks away from upgrading to iPhone 4 and am selling my Vodafone Storm 2 to a O2 friend of mine, now I have unlocked the phone but is there a way to get the O2 software onto the handset or is it impossible? If its not possible when he inserts his sim card will all the relevant settings automatically come through in text messages? Thanks for any info!!

When you mean software presume you mean SMS centre number, internet access etc. He should be prompted to download them when he inserts his O2 sim card. If not, it's easy enough to get them thru the O2 website. If O2 don't support that particular handset then another handset from the same manufacturer will do the job.

I think what the OP means is it possible to re-brand the handset with the O2 firmware. And if not is it possible to at least get the settings sent to the handset.

There are certainly websites which will put whatever firmware you like on the handset. I've not actually used one, so I don't know how reliable they are.

Failing that a local computer store will be able to debrand the handset.

The settings can be 'sent' using the mobileguide on the O2 website. As long as you have a suitable tariff.
