What's going on with 5th gen ipod nanos?

Hi Folks,

My missus is dropping mild hints at wanting an ipod nano for xmas. Now, she recently upgraded her phone, wanted an iphone but got a blackberry instead as she didn't get on with the touch screen.

So, I had the genius idea of getting her a refurb 5th gen nano from the apple store. IMO they're better than the 6th gen and they've got a clickwheel. Anyhoo, apple store has none in so I've tried play and amazon etc and an 8 gig 5th gen is more expensive than an 8 gig 6th gen by anywhere between 30-50 quid!! I'm shocked at the price. Does anybody know where I can get one for about 70-80 quid like I paid for mine??

Ta, Rob.

You'll be lucky. People are cashing in on the fact that a lot of people want the old ones because of the video camera and video playback etc.

I think you'll just need to pay a wee bit more =[

That's exactly what I thought...pesky apple.

It looks like they changed their mind about nano. After all that investment into it with a camera and radio it's as if they'd rather want people to buy touch or shuffle instead. Perhaps was nano competing with touch. It was good enough for those who did not want apps.

Yep, it a shame about the new one - the previous Nano (with the video camera) was excellent. Still at least you can wear the new one as an oversized watch

I have a 5th gen nano and I'm very disapointed because it doesn't charge on my speakers like my previous 2nd gen. I find i'm always running out of battery now.
