Thats how I saw it too. I think people look better on the bad dancers as long as they look like they are trying. I always liked seeing people learn how to dance and most of the time the really good dancers are good from start to end with little to no improvement, some wow dances and some not so brilliant dances but in the end technically sound all the time.
I like Gavin, yes I find him good looking but no I won't vote him in over someone just because he's better looking. When I personally think he's danced well to HIS ability and I see he's improved and put effort in I'll vote for him. If I think he's just messing about I wouldn't. I vote for Matt as well for the same reason and if I actually liked a dance from them I'd vote for Kara, Scott or Pam. I don't think Gav should win unless he puts in performances that deserve to win, but he deserves credit for at least putting in the effort to learn it, the proof is in how serious he takes it.
I think his idea of his ability might not be in comparing himself to the big 4 but because I think he honestly thinks he's getting better week by week, in a series maybe were there was only 1 good dancer it might have been easier to see. But most of the dancing this year has been of a higher quality by a number of people therefore the ones on the 'journeys' look bad from week 1 to whenever they leave because they just don't improve enough to touch were the top dancers started. And pretty much stayed.
