This should make many on this board extremely happy...

That live streaming for the TV10 - the CBS network affiliate in Columbus, OHIO - has become active again (at least, for now)!

Both of the following URLs seem to work:

*admin edit* - please do not link to streams not provided in an official way by the channels themselves.

This means that tonite (Saturday, July 17) you'll be able first watch an episode of THE AMAZING RACE at 1:00 AM (Sat nite/Sun morning (UK Time).

Then, you''ll be able to watch the latest episode of BIG BROTHER 5 USA at 2:00 AM (UK Time).

If you happen to miss those (& the stream is still active) you'll still be able to catch a new episode of BIG BROTHER 5 USA this tuesday nite/wed morning at 2:00 AM (UK Time) & thursday's live eviction episode thursday nite/fri morning at 1:00 AM (UK Time).

Enjoy!

Yeah the 10TV stream has been back up for a few days now, however I would advise everyone not to watch it too much, otherwise chances are it'll keep going offline...

Does anyone know how they solved the copyright problems of broadcasting worldwide? Or is it some kind of "pirate" broadcast?
Anyone know?
Watching it now!

Yeah, and it's because of all you Big Bro addicts that the flaming feed keeps dying. Sheesh. I give up.

Can someone please lock and delete this thread?

This stream is currently off-line, however over in the Channels and Programming forum, someone has suggested that it could be due to the Olympic Games and the coverage rules surrounding them.

Hopefully it will return when the games end.

but that doesnt really make any sense, because CBS ohio dont show any of the games, plus is not really a stream *cough*

Whilst it's true that they don't show the games live, they will no doubt include highlights during their news programmes. If you try to watch BBC News online or listen to BBC World Service, you'll notice that anything related to the olympics is blanked out, so a similar situation might apply to this stream. Just seems strange that it went down just hours before the olympics began.

but its nothing to do with CBS (the stream) - If the olympics have been in contact I think they would have just told CBS or his/her ISP.

The error you get is nothing like last time when it went down.

I think poeple are just hoping it comes back, lets all wish and pray tonight and every night

The stream seems a bit too professional to be operated by a home user - think of the bandwidth cost for a start, then theres the fact that local adverts are cut out, and I doubt someone would be watching it 24/7 ready to cut out any local adverts.

In my opinion it has, or did have, some connection to CBS/WBNS, but wasn't intended for public use.

the IP address goes to a ISP that their lowest connection is a T1 (they stopped providing dial-up years ago). I know a few people that have a T1 connection in the states and thats for home use.

the adverts parts I dont understand.

I hope it comes back though

If it wasnt for public use then I think the local adds wouldnt get censored why bother?, Ive read somewhere that local adverts could be classed as national if its online which would me more money for the voice over man or something, so thats why the adds are blanked over with the commit to be fit screen and the dam helicopter.

WBNS 10tv returned my call about the live video streaming, i was told that the site was taken down recently when they were informed that someone was trying to sell the link on e-bay, and that Big Brother watchers on the west coast was another factor due to the spoiler effect and ratings, they said it was a combination of both things that made them take it down and have no plans to start it back up!

Thanks for letting us know.

There is always one stupid person that spoils it for the rest of us. Fancy trying to sell the link on e-bay!!!

I wonder if they would consider having the link back for a small subscription for people outside of the USA? I love watching the shows on there and have hunted high and low to find another, but alas nothing is out there.

I watched BB USA last year in the UK and loved the fact that it was streamed for most of the E4 day - however, I have now moved the USA (Atlanta, Georgia) and, of all the places I thought I wouldn't have a problem seeing it, I cannot find any live streams on tv - only 3 shows a week! I'm a bit confused as to whether there is any livestream at all on TV in the US or only online. Also, I hear that BBUSA isn't being shown at all in the UK - is that true? I thought it was much better than our one.

Alas E4 isn't showing the US version here this year. I really love USBB and watch the streaming every year and download the shows, but it is not so good for my blood pressure. LOL . It's very different to the UK version, so it's like watching 2 completely different shows. The one thing I loved E4 for was the time delay used. I am turning into a vampire being up all night and sleeping all day trying to catch the feeds with the 8 hour time difference.

They do not have any tv streaming of USBB in the USA, as they want you to spend your hard earned cash on the internet streaming at their website. If you get it now, try getting the 2 weeks free trial on Real first and then the $9.95 per month, as it isn't worth you getting the series pass now.

I have to laugh as I used to complain about chicken cam being used a lot on ours, but the US seem to use the fishtank far more than we could imagine. You cannot watch evictions, veto meetings/competition or nominations. More often than not, 2 of the 4 streams are on the fishtank when there is no real reson for it being used.

I watched the BB UK live feeds & there was much more constant cutting away from the sound. In BB USA such disruptions are far less frequent - except during isolated situations that are noted below.

Quote:
“You cannot watch evictions, veto meetings/competition or nominations.”

This isn't totally correct. First, evictions ARE shown LIVE on the CBS thursday nite show followed by the competition for the new HOH.

The Nomination Ceremony is also shown on the CBS show. While it's not shown on the live feeds, as soon as it's over we immediately can easily discern from watching the feeds, which two HGs have been put on block.

All weekly Food Competitions ARE shown on the live feeds. The only time they briefly cut away is when they're giving the HGs instructions on some aspect of the rules.

The POV Competition & Ceremony shown on the CBS show isn't shown on the live feeds. But as soon as the feeds return, we immediately know the results. It's really the immediate aftermath of these nominations, evictions, competitions - with all the private discussions/back-stabbing, changing social dynamics etc.- that's really fascinating to observe.

Quote:
“More often than not, 2 of the 4 streams are on the fishtank when there is no real reason for it being used.”

Apparently you're not aware of the fact that when they call a HG (or a series of HGs to the DR) they immediately have to have 2 of the 4 streams from the quad cam on the aquarium. Why? I haven't a clue.

Also, for the first time ever, we get HOUSECALLS - the daily live internet talk show. I know it's no big deal for Brits since you've got Little Brother etc. - but for us this analytical-fun show is a godsend since there's so much complex gamesmanship with changing alliances (as well as zany things too) going on with BB USA. HGs are free to be themselves rather than attempt to create a favorable (but not necessaily true) public image of themselves with the voting public to garner votes - since there is no public voting to distort things.
