I really like Pamela, she comes across as a normal person and is a good dancer so why is there so much hate towards her. I vote for her every week because I'm worried from some of the things I read on here about wishing she was gone and all that. So why the hate?

Welcome to the world of Scott fans. I like Pamela though.

I'm not speaking for anyone but I think hate is probably not the word....I think that she grates on some people quite a lot (not me can I add - I am very much a fan of her and James this yera ) and she does have the tendancy to be OTT (personally, I find her really quite amusing).

In RL many people I have spoken to are voting for Pamela which i think is interesting.

This is not to say that the negativity towards her doesn't annoy me....I tend to try and avoid it and concentrate on the fact that I really enjoy her dancing and interviews I would love her to make the final.

I do not hate Pamela, she's just slightly irritating to me, and I don't really like James either.

The overmarking of her Charleston (whilst not her fault) made her slip away completely in my eyes.

I think she would be a refreshing win to the show, showing that all ages, shapes, genders etc, can get a fair shot at it. That said Strictly has kind of shown the GBP to be a bit racist by different races winning or getting to the finals. But as I see it, Pamela should win because she has shown consistency and natural ability, and has improved week on week.

Hate is too strong a word. How about dislike? And, in fairness, not really dislike of her as a person, because we can not really know her from an entertainment programme, but simply dislike of how she comes across on Strictly, which I find gushing, insincere and annoying. In real life she may well be a lovely lady!

insincere, to me she seems to be enjoying the show and the gushing is quite endearing, like she is happy to be accepted.

She is a great dancer but it seems the judges are doing her and others, notably Scott, some favours, but disfavouring others, such a Kara. This is a perception, and hence is subjective.

It's all subjective. I find her annoying, others find her endearing. That's fair enough. I doubt anyone actually hates her, the word is far too strong. As I was trying to say, we don't even know the woman.

Kara does have problems though, she is off balance quite a lot and the judges are picking up on it. I think Kara is an amazing dancer, but Pamela is more natural, and has great musicality, it flows through her into her dancing Kara is always slightly ahead or behind the music, like it is just a soundtrack to the dance. My view anyway.

I think Kara is a far more natural dancer... but you're entitled to your opinion, of course.

Kara is enthusiastic but it is sometimes misplaced and this energy makes her timing a little off and the dancing look contrived. Obviously you're entitled to your opinion too.

I think Kara is the probably the best dancer overall, but Pamela is very good considering she's over 30 years older than Kara. I'd love to have seen Pam dancing when she was 30.

And here we have a fascinating illustration of the nature of forums in which a thread about Pamela has transmogrified into sniping about Kara.

I would've actually described myself as a fan of Pamela's ever since seeing her Salsa. HOWEVER....my admiration has gone down since then with her (or maybe it's James)continued use of running down the clock with walking, strutting, pirouettes, and all manner of guff instead of actually dancing (her Foxtrot with next to no content being a prime example). I wouldn't mind so much but she is a capable dancer and doesn't need all the filler. Personally I wouldn't mind if she were eliminated this weekend

Well I wont snipe over any of these two fabulous women.

They have both given me really beautiful dances week on week and have made SCD for me this year.

I would love a female winner this year and if either one of them won then I would be over the moon.

Many of the other routines have been full of gimmicks. I think James' choreography has been rather good.

I think that is what it was suppose to do , can't be avoided if you pitch one against the other. Bad taste this thread !!!

I never meant it to be about pitching Kara against Pamela. At all. I just wanted to know why people don't like Pamela.

I agree, when I first saw her Salsa I was completely wowed - really liked her at that point.

You're quite right j4rose....but I do think Pamela has used it the most (barring the quite atrocious Anne Widdecombe..and Gavin Henson).out of what I like to call the "Fantastic Four" (Pamela, Kara, Scott, Matt). If Pamela were pyschoanalysing me then she would correctly deduce that what I'm really mad at is the new relaxed rules for this series . However (and this is just my opinion mind you) Pamela is definitely the winner of the "Strictly Come Faffing" awards this year

Yes but will you be equally wowed when she shows us her "salsa" in her showdance?

Pamela is a very clever woman - a PSYCHOLOGIST, and she is playing the psychology game. She has thought about what it takes to win - and she's playing her cards well. She has the judges eating out of the palm of her hand. And yes, an "oldie" winning won't hurt the beeb at all.

But I just don't buy all the gushing thanks. She just doesn't seem sincere. All that rubbish on ITT about the end of the VW - come on! It's an act.... and, she isn't the best dancer - Craig and Karen agree that Kara is the best ... but hey, we know that the best doesn't always win. I just feel that if she does win, we've all been manipulated and conned by the Pamela she wanted us to see, which is not the real Pamela Stephenson.

How do you know that? You don't know her - I'd be ok with any of the fab four winning personally although I think Kara is probably the best all-rounder. I hate it that some of Kara's fans whom are understandably peeved that she didn't get a 40 and Pam did feel the need to lay into her. The good is not the enemy of the better people.
