She is a beautiful and natural dancer and deserves to be in the final..

I can't take to Pamela as I remember some bad things about her from years ago. She's not a nice person.

Kara is the best dancer by a very long way but if as the OP said its about representing women then surely they should both be in the final.....just a thought.

That is what I have suspected the popular vote is - I assume the judges know that.

I like Pamela & James but Kara is out of this world.

Love both of them, but Kara is such a fantastic dancer. It'd be daylight robbery if she didn't come out top! I still think she continues to be vastly under-marked compared to, say, Scott.

I admire Pamela a great deal. 'Representing women'? Hmm - that's tricky because, as others have said, I'm of a certain age and she's more representative of me than is a bright young thing like Kara.

But this isn't about voting for someone who represents women - well, not for me, anyway. I'm voting for the dancer whose performances I most enjoy. That, for me, is Kara. I really do think she's the best thing in this competition and I hope she can be the first female sleb to lift the glitterball since Alesha.

am not sure why but i find Pam really annoying she comes over fake on ITT and her laff?!..But she is represented for the older ladies and got to give her respect for that!

Kara; she looks beautiful; dances beautifully & even has a lovely TV persona.
I do admire Pamela but she is starting to grate on me now; it's her insistance on wearing sleeveless tops all the time; firstly she's too old for them, secondly they look hideous as although she has lost a lot of weight she has upper arms that are out of proportion with the rest of her body & look wierd (too chunky & flabby) & thirdly it is too cold to be wearing little strappy summer dresses. It's really winding me up!!! (Now I'm not being unreasonable cos I saw her on a chat show in a mini dress & her legs looked fab) IMO if you've got it flaunt it but please cover it up if it is ugly!
I have to mention her silent mouthed "thank you's" to camera every time they get through - they are coming across as so insincere now & OTT as if she has just won an Oscar or something. (I shout at the TV now when she does it "Ham, ham, ham").
I will finish on something positive though, like Craig she is a good dancer & deserves to be in the semi's.

I think it is James not Pamela getting them through. He is a much better choreographer now than he was when he first joined Strictly.

What exactly is the point of this thread? Curiously, there doesn't seem to be a thread about whether Matt, Scott or Gavin would best 'represent men' ...

Inevitably, the Pamela-bashers have started making their mark here. Not a smart move. If Pamela does go, Kara needs her votes. If Kara's supporters slag off Pamela, it's more likely Pamela's votes will transfer to one of the boys, thereby diminishing Kara's chances of winning.

Personally, I'd like to see them both in the final, preferably with Scott. I'm sure that won't happen, as Matt is pretty much a guaranteed finalist - but, for me, his potential is still being restricted by Aliona's 'wacky' choreography.

And as for Kara (or, indeed, any contestant) being underscored and Pamela (or, again, any contestant) being overscored: long-term SCD viewers must surely have worked out that, by this stage of the competition, the producers and their puppets, the judges, have already decided who they want in the final and who they want to win. So all the talk of 'It's anyone's game', 'It's so close' and 'The judges' leaderboard keeps changing' is nothing more than hype, and the scoring is deliberately designed to generate as much drama (and publicity) as possible for the show.

This weekend, I suspect Kara may get more tens, while Pamela suffers some kind of 'setback' (i.e. she isn't marked quite as kindly), culminating in her exit. However, I also suspect Pamela's fate may be linked to Scott's, as the producers will want one of the two in the final with Matt and Kara. However ...

Kara fans should be much more concerned about the prospect of Gavin reaching the final than Pamela. If Pamela doesn't have public support, she will easily be knocked out at third place. Gavin's support, however, appears to be growing and the coo-ing over him in an 'Aw, bless' fashion (as Claudia does repeatedly and Zoe, Fiona and Gloria all did on ITT this week) is on the increase. If we had a Matt/Kara/Gavin final, it's quite possible Kara could end up in third place ...

That doesn't make sense. I'd hope that people vote for who they think is the best dancer not just transfer votes for feminist issues or through spite. It doesn't follow that those voting for Pamela would want to vote for anyone else if she went either, they might not bother voting at all.

And just cause you don't relate to someone and are critical doesn't necessarily mean you're a 'basher'.

I think you may also find that many Gethin fans switched to Alesha in SCD5 out of fury for the way Matt was given a pass through to the final despite having performed a less than perfect waltz in his dance-off ... so yes, voting 'out of spite' is a real concept.

I think Kara is a far better dancer than Pamela. That's why I posted on this thread. I didn't disparage Pamela, I don't 'hate' her at all. She's a nice dancer, funny and I think her and James are quite hilarious sometimes. But I've also found her quite fake since almost the beginning and have said so numerous times, long before last weekend's scoring abomination. I'm not going to censor myself in the hopes of buttering up Pamela fans. Apart from being sycophantic, it's not needed because I haven't bashed or been nasty about Pamela at all.
