Although he did hire both of them! It was one of the all time great reality tv deceptions.
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/new...icle713721.ece Must admit, once I found that out my enjoyment of The Apprentice was never the same again. Felt the show had cheated the audience. What a con. ![]() |

Most shocking decision in UK Apprentice history!!!

. The old man has truly lost his marbles? Same when Sugar picked Simon Ambrose over Christine. These were worst decisions made by Sugar because of the fact that they were at the FINALS of the programme. He might have made the wrong decision last night but it was certainly not even remotely a shocking one as there are still other potential winners left. Btw I thought Stuart's pitch to Sugar last night really showed why he's the real David Brent in the flesh.

LS firing Liz certainly surprised me last night, thought it'd definitely be Stuart, and at an outside chance maybe Stella. Quite glad Liz is gone, wasn't keen on her.
Cant wait for the interviews next week, that trailer where Stu bursts in and practically shouts "Margaret!" looks like a great precursor!! |

How in the heck did Stuart dodge that bullet?
All he has is strong narcissism and self belief. He was responsible for ticket pricing, the deal with the Tourist Centre, yet Liz - the much better salesperson gets fired. They are turning this into a soap and keeping contestants for entertainment. |

I always thought that was how the Apprentice was designed. That they got down to the final two who then, off camera, joined the Sugar empire and did real work for him for several months before the final of the TV show was filmed.

Raef's firing was the most shocking. But Liz's was sure surprising. I thought Stella would get the chop as Sugar has had more to say to her in recent weeks than Liz.

With respect, you're missing the point. The show has NEVER told the audience Sugar has the option to hire the two finalists for six months prior to making his final decision. It is deception because it's not transparent. It was leaked to the media that Badger was hired for six months, it didn't come from some Apprentice or BBC spokesperson! Anyway, if people don't care about such reality tv deception, fair enough. I don't take the show seriously, it's light entertainment so I don't want to get all heavy about the show conning the audience. Sugar can hire all of the candidates for all I care!

Liz revealed her 'achilles heel' in the You're Fired show. She used the word 'timid' when describing her time in the boardroom. She came across as strong and assertive without being aggressive, however, her timid side came out when she needed to fight to stay in the show. In hindsight, her firing revealed a side to her we didn't know about. You could argue Sugar saw something in her we didn't know, but Baggsy - God bless him - should have been fired this week!

ANYONE getting fired over Mickey Sophocles was the worst decision, and that probably includes 10,000 who didn't get on the show

For someone who's supposed to be an astute businessman he seems very susceptible to people like Sophocles and the bagginator who are prepared to just sit there and tell them how wonderful they are - or will be if only he gives them another chance. |

I have said it all along Liz was overrated. Sugar did the right thing. She floundered when put on the spot and got lucky when acting a project manager in the clothes shop task.

Sugar has made a string of bad decisions over the years, and last night's decision was a stinker, but it's an entertainment show at the end of the day. None of it should be taken too seriously.

Think we're all being way too harsh on Liz, when all is said and done, professionally, she is in the top two or three in this series. Easily.

So Sugar is always right then?
He was wrong to fire Liz. I'm overjoyed that Baggs survived as he's my favourite, but Liz has been superior to him, and to all the other boys. Stella is the only one thats close IMO. |

The interviews are going to be so great!
Baggs will need extra feet to put in his mouth. That's how much he's gonna get shafted! And Jamie "2nd biggest river/ 20 diameters" looks set to give us some very fine moments. Jo will struggle not to get all huffy. It's going to be fabulous, darlings. |

I reckon it mightn't be as good as we think, we wont' get the golden moment we crave cos of pri*ks like Claude using it as their yearly ticket to stardom and not letting our heroes get a word in edgeways. Stuart will be edited so he looks like an utter clown, Jamie will look wet and Chris thick and Joanna pretty damn dumb
Stella will be the only one to get massive props - beleive me. |

The interviews are my favourite week of the show. Can't wait to see Stuart ripped apart piece by piece.

i have said many times, that sir alan makes bad picks once the real dross has gone.
I think SAS sees himself in Stuart when he was younger with ambition. The other is....does SAS want to see Stuart get firmly put himself in the interviews? |

I still can't believe it's happened. Stuart behaved like a nasty bratt the whole episode. His entire attidude - trying to steal the other team's customers, not being able to sell anything because the public felt harrassed by him, his nauseating arrogance...and worst of all he had no pricing strategy, made up a ridiculous price (which was the reason for the failure of the task!). His 'plea' in the boardroom was nothing short of sickening! Every bit of it...all I heard was this ridiculously arrogant little bratt, full of hot airs about himself and almost frighteningly unaware of how delusional he is. Liz and Stella didn't have to say anything, they were both sitting there trying to contain themselves from laughing, often laughing out loud, at how absurd he was sounding. Of all the boardrooms I've seen in my time this one I thought was going to be the most predictable. Once Stuart started speaking, I remember thinking at one point that Alan Sugar was simply trying to pass the time until he can finally fire him. Sugar didn't have a single thing he can critcise Liz or Stella on, which is why I thought he just let Stuart rabbit on. Liz on the other hand, was almost faultless. What an amazing, dignified, respectful business woman. Brilliant leadership, sales, management, numerical and business acumen. A true goldmine for any business. And she get's fired. The old man has truly lost his marbles? Sugar knows that it's smart to keep an entertaining idiot for as long as possible . |

The worst for me was the Jenny/Lucinda/Shazia boardroom with Shazia going.
How could you not fire Jenny? |

How could you not fire Jenny? ![]() I think the firing of Karen in series 2 might have been almost as bad. He didn't seem to care what happened in the task at all and just kept on going on about how he didn't need another corporate lawyer. |
