Considering what a distasteful, rude and offensive man Alan is, he'd be a hypocrite to fire Chris over something so insignificant.

Also, Stuart IS a t**t. Watching him trying to steal customers actually made me want to hurt him. He is so irritating.

If people are saying telling someone to "fu** off you fat tw**" is a on the spot sackable offence I would be sacked about 4 times a day. Especially when I find salesmen mucking up my warehouse.

Actually Tw*t is also an actual word, possibly originating from Old Norse ūveit meaning cut, slit, or forest clearing.

Robert Browning famously misused the term in his 1841 poem "Pippa Passes", believing it to be an item of nun's clothing:

Then owls and bats
Cowls and tw*ts
Monks and nuns in a cloister's moods
Adjourn to the oak-stump pantry

Its meaning was in reality the same then as now, Browning's misconception probably having arisen from a line in a 1660 satirical poem, Vanity of Vanities:

They talk't of his having a Cardinalls Hat
They'd send him as soon an Old Nuns Tw*t

Another mistaken (or perhaps dialectal) use was in Edward Bulwer-Lytton's 1870 science fiction novel The Coming Race, in an apparent satire on Darwin:

Among the pithy sayings which, according to tradition, the philosopher bequeathed to posterity in rhythmical form and sententious brevity, this is notably recorded: "Humble yourselves, my descendants; the father of your race was a 'Tw*t' (tadpole): exalt yourselves, my descendants, for it was the same Divine Thought which created your father that develops itself in exalting you."

It also has other meanings these days such as:

As a derogatory insult, a pejorative meaning a fool, synonymous with the word twit - 'You are a real tw*t and a half'

To hit something (or someone) hard or violently - 'Let's get out there and tw*t it!'

[Thank you Wiki]
If Chris meant it in that context - Fair play to him.

I would certainly get a written warning for it.

Liz stole customers in the video task by introducing a car and copying the other team.

That was different. She didn't do it in such an aggravating way. She observed the others, and then decided that they had a good thing going. Stuart ran up to customers that the other team were ALREADY talking to, tried to steal them away, and then when they got angry, he acted like he did nothing wrong.

He's a child who needs to go next week. I hope he gets the piss ripped out of him before he does.

I'm sorry but Chris got a bit of a cheer in out household for that outburst. Totally well deserved and pretty observant if you ask me.

As for a sacking offence, personally I would want to haul HairBalls over the coals for his behaviour first. Now that was shocking.

BTW: Am I the only one disappointed that SirLordAlanSugar didn't say that he'd "laid on" two buses? That would have been quite a pleasing mental image.

What is it with people today?

I always thought that if you were insulting someone, it was meant to be offensive?

Otherwise, what's the point.

Yes, but in a work environment, you aren't supposed to insult people, quite the opposite, you tolerate people you can't stand.

In that case, Stuart shouldn't have retaliated with "F*ck off." either, nor try to egg Chris on with sh!t like "Are you gonna hit me then?" and then being smug when Chris (obviously) wouldn't.

I've known 11-year olds who've grown out of behavior like that.

He said about hitting him because he felt threatened that Chris would indeed hit him, to put it in laymans terms, he was scared of Chris.

He was like one of those children you get at school who know just how to behave so that they wind people up and get them to react and then go running to teacher to get them in trouble.

Neither candidate exactly covered themselves in glory by the bagginator was acting like a complete turd.

The gains he's made in my opinion over the last few weeks evaporated as he showed what a complete dick he really is.

Oh come off it. Chris is not a great candidate by any means and I'm shocked that he's made the final 5 but threatening and insulting? Stuart shouldn't have been chasing their business in the first place! You have absolutely every right to be threatening and insulting when it comes to business and if you want to succeed you will know when and how to use it. Chris used it at the right time on an increasingly irritating Stuart, and it was much deserved.

No, you never have the right to be threatening.

Threatening behaviour is actually grounds for prosecution.

You're making a much bigger deal about this than Chris and Stuart themselves. To paraphrase Chris in the boardroom: 'Tempers flared, words were exchanged, we're over it, no hard feelings.' It really wasn't all that terrible.

The only reason 'threatening' was ever mentioned was because of the bagginator's ridiculous 'Are you going to hit me?' comment.

Apart from that it was just a normal, heated, disagreement.

As I said, you get a child like Baggs in most classrooms. Nasty little sneaks that wind others up and then act all innocent and get them into trouble.

Just a shame he hasn't grown out of that by now.

Of course, he is only 21.

Well done Chris! You spoke for an awful lot of people. I am not one to bandy the f word around, but it is sometimes appropriate.

Agree. I gave a little cheer when Chris said it. Stuart's obnoxious behaviour throughout the episode was far worse. He should have been fired.

They are in competition with each other! Trying to "steal" each others customers is just a strategy in the game and they shouldn't take it personally or get personal. Its a bit like playing poker with someone and then calling him a fat **** because he was bluffing and now you could be out the competition. Uhm hello, its a competition!
