You're making a much bigger deal about this than Chris and Stuart themselves. To paraphrase Chris in the boardroom: 'Tempers flared, words were exchanged, we're over it, no hard feelings.' It really wasn't all that terrible.
'Xactly. Chris was well within his rights to get angry at Stuart's tactics and he could easily have brought it up in the Boardroom. I actually respect him for saying bygones and dismissing what happened as well as he did.

Well, the definition of a **** is....

Well, men dont have them.
I'm a lady. And I hate the word. But I was surprised Chris was so restrained. If it were me,...eff off you fat c***....would most definitely have been the appropriate phrasology at that given moment. "Tw*t" is letting him off lightly

this^ is a joke right ?
Nope, you only dare someone to hit you if you're scared of them so that they won't hit you

Not all that long since Baggs left school and he's brought a playground mentality with him.

'Tempers flared, words were exchanged, we're over it, no hard feelings
There must have been an off-screen coming together then cos I doubt Stuart saw it that way.

All the abuse headed Stuarts way is terrible! THE MAN IS A LEGEND!!

It did feel that Bates was after a physical fight the way he talked to Stuart, i'd have reacted the same.

Stuart had just as much right to pitch in the lucrative trafalgar square as the other team did. They also didnt have the tour companys backing.
, please tell me your joking, your right about one thing in this post, and that is stuart had as much right to pitch in trafalgar square as the other team, but how big is trafalger square, why did he have to try and steal customes that bates as you put it was already talking to, and by the looks of it was on the verge of signing up, and when braggs realises that he had no chance of getting the custom even with his cheap we will beat it by £5 line, he then persists in badgering the customers so much that they walk away from a deal with the other team, and then punches the air in delight because he cost the other team 2 customers, he would have got more from me than being called a f*t t**t, which he would have deserved to get from bates

If this had come up in the boardroom I expect it would have paled in comparison to Stuart actually breaking the law by trying to flog tickets outside the tourist centre.

er... I'd be careful trying that out .

if you keep provoking someone don't be surprised if they respond .

Are you related to him or something? Unless you are Stubaggs. That would explain it, because he does have an awfully high opinion of himself on screen at least.

He said the bagginator is a legend.

Attila the Hun is a legend, Vlad the Impaler is a legend, Adolf Hitler is a legend.

Do you see what 'm getting at?

I wonder if it's "breaking the law" in the same way that taking photographs in a public place in London is "breaking the law" ... NOT?

In other words just a round about way of saying "F off and stop pinching my customers, you fat tw*t".

Or maybe it really is some actual bye-law about commercial activity?

That term has been completely ruined; anyone can be called a legend now.

Yeah a LOT of police and security guys STILL haven't got that one!

Street selling depends on the local by-laws. Nearly always a permit is required. That will specify which streets, etc. Without that you are breaking the law and the police, council officials etc will act if they catch you. I would expect that the production team have sorted that for street selling tasks on TA.

The pavement outside a shop isn't owned by the shop. By-laws can place some responsibilities on them however, like keeping it clear of things like A-boards. I real life no shop is going to just let someone stand outside and hassle their customers. If a polite 'wtf do you think you are doing?' doesn't work, then a word to the police that a breach of the peace may occur if they hassle customers. Or in reality a check that they have a permit. A permit that would not be renewed if the shop puts in a complaint that they might be selling under false pretences i.e appearing to be staff of the shop.

Any potential customers witnessing the argument outside the shop will automatically side with the 'proper business' shop keeper against the 'chancer'. So Baggs wasn't doing himself any favours there. Quite the opposite as customers of his real business are going to ask themselves, 'am I one of those he's ripping off?'

They are in competition with each other! Trying to "steal" each others customers is just a strategy in the game and they shouldn't take it personally or get personal. Its a bit like playing poker with someone and then calling him a fat **** because he was bluffing and now you could be out the competition. Uhm hello, its a competition!
Not in the way he did it though, it was just sabotage. It's akin to running in to the opposite team's factory during one of the food production tasks and spoiling their stock. Can't believe he didn't get fired this week, he's an absolute cock - although I am looking forward to his interviews

You are so off the mark with this. Are you telling me that the next time the teenage chavs who hang out at the bottom of my street shout offensive comments at me and I object, and then one of them gets right up in my face and shouts, 'What you gonna do about it? You gonna hit me? Ha ha ha!' what that actually means is that he is SCARED of five-foot-three, eight-stone little me? OK, that's good to know. I'll adjust my behaviour accordingly and will let you know how that works out for me.*

*From my hospital bed.

What you say is true

But I just recognise Baggs schoolyard mentality in what he was saying. I could feel his fear of Chris in this situation, he's taller, stockier and would probably have him, so he says outright 'are you going to hit me' in an attempt to diffuse any possible violence from Chris, Bates will of course realise then that he cannot punch Stuart in the face, stand down and repeat '**** off' to him without the violence.

Just my take on it having remembered what it was like for me at school.

I do get what you're saying, Rhydler. I just didn't get any sense of fear from Stuart whatsoever. I watched the whole show again last night with my husband, who was out on Wednesday night and missed it, and I actually tried to see the situation from your point of view. But, no, I just don't see it. Stuart was just as dismissive as Chris about the whole incident in the boardroom, and he doesn't strike me as the type to let something he felt very strongly about go like that! This is all mountains out of molehills, IMO.

Is it me, or did Bates get off way too lightly for this?

Stuart may annoy people, and was perhaps incredibly overzealous in trying to actively steal clients away from the other team, but Chris had no call in the world to call Stuart those names.

Personally, I think thats an on the spot firing myself.
Didn't Stuart encourage Chris to hit him before he said this?
