Jeff Waynes Musical Version of War of the Worlds
Just got back from seeing this at the Birmingham NIA. Absolutely fan-bloody-tastic. Rhydian put in a creditable performance as Parson Nathaniel, but the star performance for me tonight was Jason Donovan as the Artilleryman. If anyone is planning on seeing this show as it tours around Britain I'm pretty confident you won't be disappointed.

Seen it twice myself, it is a fantastic show.
Tickets are a bit pricey, but worth it. |

Jason Donovan played Nathaniel this time and was outstanding. The only person that let it down was Marti Pellow. Not sure what he was trying to do but he seemed almost like a robot most of the time and his singing wasn't very good. |

I've seen the Next Gen version a few months ago, and thought it was very good. The songs are fab, Jason Donavan was excellent in his role, I thought it was a shame I didnt see Rhydian as the Parson.

Jason Donovan's musical theatre background really shone through as he was excellent as was Ricky Wilson (Kaiser Chiefs). |

We saw that show in Cardiff and we thought the same at the time!

I didnt think Marti Pellow was very good, I always associate Justin Heyward in that role. Liam Neeson was perfectly fine, but theres less magic in seeing a hologram of somebody still alive, if that makes sense...

Very good and I only went because it was a spare ticket.
Jason Donovan is a damn sight better stage actor than he is a recording artist. |
