Hey all,

My OH had an HTC desire...

Dropped it, and long story short that was the end of it luckily enough it was insured but they have sent a desire HD instead of the normal desire.. we didnt even notice for a few days till i said im sure thats not a desire!

My question is, should we keep the HD or fess up and get the old desire back, which is better?

Keep it. Insurance is generally the "same or better" terms. Maybe it was easier for them to send you this. Though I think battery life is worse on the HD due to powering the larger screen.

Oh ok.. that isn't to bad though, but hopefully it isn't too bad!!

I thought it was a mistake but yeah maybe it was easier for them to send that

OH is chuffed with it, so looks like we shall be keeping it then, thanks for your reply

I would just keep it, getting a better item isn't unusual from insurance companies. I broke my laptop and they gave me the model up from the one I had, the guy even gave me a call to see if the better model would be okay

I think the original Desire is better than the HD.

The Desire HD is heavier, wider, doesn't always fit in the pocket, has no optical track pad and a really poor battery life.

I love my HD, its like a mini computer and the battery life is so bad only because I am forever messing with it!

I agree, If I was offered the Desire or Desire HD I would take the Desire every time! The HD for me is just to big and bulky and as the Desire's battery life is already dire I wouldn't want any worse.

HD every time.

Small screens are too fiddly so 4.3" certainly seems optimum whilst allowing jacket pocket portability.
But I'd certainly rather have HDMI than the DLNA it does comes with.
Its going to take a year or two for that to be standard on TV's
