Satellite Mast

My partner has just aquired some land, surrounded on three sides by trees and is wondering if it would be worth contacting O2 (or similar) to rent a piece of land to them. There is very poor reception, in the neighbouring villages and I would think that the residents would be only too pleased to agree for planning for a Satellite mast to be erected. It would be completely out of site of the village and in a corner of a woodland.

Any thoughts, please?

You don't know until you try. But if you do contact them don't just go for standard customer services or they won't know what you're talking about, go for proper corporate offices.

They don't use satellites by the way, they either use microwave dishes which need direct line of sight to another radio tower or leased lines from BT, NTL etc. So the field would need to either be near to some decent connectivity or not have large buildings/hills etc surrounding it. Also needs an electricity supply.

But yeah, you got nothing to lose, give them a shout.
