blackberry question
is there anyway of changing the default SMS function so that it essentially sits "silent" - turning off the SMS alerts at the very least ??
i've downloaded chompsms which i quite like, but i get two lots of alerts for each SMS i receive. I'd ideally just like to have chompsms alert me, but the default function does as well .. |

I'm pretty sure you can tell it not to alert you, but if not why not just upload a silent audio file to the handset and select that as your message tone?

you still get the alert icon on the screen from the default SMS.
i haven't found anything on the phone that lets you turn off the SMS notifications though.. |

I *think* I remember a thread at BBForums with CrunchSMS that if you enable the Firewall for SMS, it will block the messages from the BB Messages, but still allow to the CrunchSMS app.
You could try that. Options - Security - Firewall [depending on OS version] |
