Do you think this means he is certain to win? On most of the polls he is in the lead with around 30-40%, Rebecca second with 15-25%...

The ball is firmly in Matt's court. If he does great, he'll win. If he screws up somehow, then he could lose. Actually, even if he is just average he will still win (assuming Rebecca is her wooden self).

Nothing is certain before it happens, but it is looking good for Matt.
The performances on the night can change it, I suppose it depends what mood people are in.

Nothing is certain. Who knows how the voting is going to go.
OD will have a LOT of multiple voters (they all will, but I'd say that the ones who are the tweenie's favourites will have more), and these voters are generally not ones that will take part in internet polls, especially TV polls during the day e.g. This Morning. |

I'm a Matt fan but i wouldn't say he is a certainty. Never rule out the competition. I still think Cher could win.
At the moment, i find that the ball is in Rebecca and 1D's court. They did the best last weekend! Matt was ill, so he wasn't on form. If they do good, thats them being consistent, lots of people think Matt might not be fit. I find Matt quite the underdog at the moment. |

I always remember Susan Boyle in instances like this. The most favoured winner for the whole competition. Huge media and recognition behind her, highly rated, nobody came close to the acclaim she was getting.
Came second. |

X Factor polls are notoriously useless.

There is simply no way I can see One Direction winning, not with Robbie as the duet. Looks to me like the producers have given up the idea of them winning.
Rebecca would have to put an amazing performance (very unlikely given her insecurities) and for Matt do his worst performances to actually have any chance for her to win. To be honest although I am a Rebecca fan, I wont mind at all if Matt wins, I really like him too. |

Bookies have started to take odds that Matt is the next Steve Brookstein - an anti-hero of the people for next year when the X-Factor starts again.

jonny thats all you ever do is slate matt and ive worked that out in less than 2 days !
![]() back to the polls and i guess it depends on who was asked, where, what age etc i would say its level pegging between all 4 of them , i would be more worried for the 3 that dont win as simon kept banging on about there being only one winner and being a runner up isnt good enough this year ( even if it worked in previous years such as jls) he seems to be pretty peeved at the idea of multiple "winners" wish someone could give me an angle on this |

Is there going to be a YouGov poll this year? Werent they previously accurate.
BTW apparently according to a tweet from the Mirror, Cher has kind of endorsed Matt to win as 'a genuine bloke'. |

Polls mean nothing, if I know anything from living in America, and watching American Idol those polls mean nothing Adam Lambert was winning every poll by a nice margin, and he didn't win, and its said he lost by a nice size margin.

Who knows what Simon has in store to stop Matt from winning, after all this show was Fixed for one of Cheryl's acts to win, and Simon has a way of getting rid of the competition as we have seen with Wagner and Mary.
From day one Simon has always favoured Cheryl and her acts and he has done everything to keep them in the competition he is the one who controls the show and he will do anything to see that one of her acts wins this before it was Cher but she is unpopular like katie so now he is focusing more on Rebecca to win. Matt may have the most votes but with Simon in control anything could happen. |
