As they were having problems during training, I wonder why Artem didn't take that particularly move out of the routine and substituted something else.
Anyway I thought it was beautiful and she thoroughly deserves to be at the top of the leader board.

There's more to dancing than perfect foot/leg/torso/arm technique.
The foot off the floor was minor, but losing one point for it, given all the lectures in previous weeks, was probably right. Kara is by far the cleanest of the dancers. Artem's choreography has probably been the best overall (though IMO Anton ought to get an award.) Yet I have always found Kara's dancing lacking, as if she dances too cooly, or clinically. It's like watching a young girl who tries so hard to get 100% on a test... because it's expected of her (by her teacher or parents.) OTOH, Pamela is a bit sloppy here and there, and not as sharp (time wise.) Yet I find her dancing much more effective. Pamela is working to affect those who are watching her. |

Last week was last week.
Craig said on ITT he was going to be pernickity and to be fair, he didnt score anyone a 10 tonight. Kara wasnt aware she had let a foot rise off the floor but Artem agreed with Craig, she did. So fair enough for me, even if the other judges denied seeing it. Kara is my fabourite, but that doesnt mean I can't be realistic (unlike some fans ).Craig was consistent in that the awarded the highest mark to Kara, with others below her. It doesn't matter that it wasn't a 10. Quote:
That Kara didn't get a 10 from Craig wasn't anything to do with lack of ability or a failure to capture the mood of the dance, it was due to an illegal lift in his eyes.
She was still miles better than Pamela was last week but I guess if Craig saw her break the rules then he had no choice but to penalise her. I still think he is the most consistent judge. Kara deserved to be on top, and to me it doesn't matter if it is with three or four 10's. |

And we are seriously supposed to believe Kara's VW was less good than Pamela's last week?

The foot was off the floor. Be it a flaw or a 'lift' for Craig, he noticed it and could not give the dance a 10.

I'm waiting to see the judges' 're-cap' thingy because I bet Len will let rip at Craig for him giving Kara only a 9. And Craig is instantly going to retort about Len not applying the rules as he said a few weeks ago that all the judges would.
It's going to be handbags at dawn with a vengeance. I just hope none of it is edited out!

IN one word: YES! And her foot was off the floor twice, so you get marked down for that. Also they were hardly in hold so it looked more like a AS then a VW. The emotional content was seriously lacking. Kara's dance did absolutely nothing for me. Too much pfaffing about in the beginning as well.

Craig is the best judge but yes, he makes mistakes.
Of course, his mistake was not giving Kara a 9, but giving stompy stumbly Pamela a 10 last week. |

Come on guys? At least the other judges ludicrously overmarking Pamela don't pretend as Craig does that a dance has to be perfect to get a 10.

There seemed to be an agenda tonight to give Pamela a boost.

Craig could not live with himself if he gave her a ten. It must be difficult as it is already

Maybe Billy Connolly is coming back to BBC1?
No, I don't believe that either. Craig marked Kara down for the same reasons as he did last night. I can't argue with that. But there's no explanation for him giving Pam a 10 given her dance was so ordinary. Would he have done the same if she had perfectly executed the hokey-cokey? |

In YOUR opinion!!! in MY opinion Pamela deserved her score, Kara deserved hers!!!! I feel Karas dancing has been, mostly, really good, i find they do not connect emotionally with the performance, Pamela and James grab my attention, entertain me and draw me into the dance. i think Matt is the same as Kara, detached from the performance.

I think that Craig is sticking to the rules and penalising mistakes as well as illegal lifts. This would be a good thing if it were not for the fact that most of the participants are overmarked, with tens flying around. This means that a more difficult dance with one fault will score below an easier dance with no mistakes.
I think they should get back to the days when eight was a good score and nines and tens were difficult to get. Then marking more fairly should be easier. |

I think Craigs marking is more realistic, the others start off marking way to high and it leaves them no where to go, early in the series a 5 or 6 should be ample then IMO the marks can show the improvements as the weeks go on, then 9s and 10s would IMO be more deserved.

Yes, Craig was right. You can tell he is itching to give Kara a 10 but is being consistent as ever. Only impartial Judge we've got.
