Matt was a national acrobatics champion as a boy, so a couple of dances won't worry him.

In international competitions those making the Final, dance 25 times within 4 hours.

All credit to Matt though for pulling out the stops in the swingathon. Not my favourite to win, but he showed admirable fighting spirit in the end!

Was it fair to make Matt do back to back fast dances? Probably no.

Yet Matt's problem tonight was NOT:
1) his ordering in the list;
2) Aliona's choreography;
3) Aliona
as claimed by some posters upstream.

Matt's problem tonight was Matt's dance technique, or more properly the lack thereof.

His latin technique suffers because he has not practiced it enough.

I think Matt's real disadvantage is that the judges seem to expect so much more from him than the other male celebs.

I actually want to see Pamela win this year (although I adore Kara too), but I really want to see Matt in the final, because he is, quite simply the best male celeb in the competition.

Yep it certainly was a huge disavantage for Matt to do the swingaton after the salsa. I don't understand why they didn't put the dance troupe in, so that they had more time to recover.

It was obviously going to come down to Matt and Kara so he should have been given a fairer shot!

Please don't shout me down kara fans I love her too, just saying how I see it!”

Why mention her then
As Pam & James were first they got the most rest

Because in my opinion it would always come down to these two!

When they were the last two left Matt could barely stand up and Kara was fresh as a daisy and despite really enjoying Matt's early Swing stuff, I could see that judging those two at that moment, Kara looked better and deserved to win! I have no doubt that if Matt had had enough rest he would have had the stamina to go longer and could have won!

I know there's a lot of Kara bashing going on but honestly I'm not one of them. ( check my posts I love her) I compared his amount of rest to kara's because I knew they would be the two left at the end!

It irritated me when they said that Kara won because the others lacked stamina. Stamina! She's had half an hour of sitting down, Matt just danced and had to sprint to get changed.

It was a strange dance, very disappointing. I wouldn't worry though he will probably get 40 for his tango and will top the public vote so if won't be a problem, the criticism crushed him though poor thing.

Aliona is Matt's massive disadvantage,

I thought sweating during exercise is actually a sign of fitness?

Plus, assuming the swingathon was danced at the time it was shown live, any disadvantage Matt may have suffered was surely balanced out by the fact he danced his main routine last (again!) and was blown out of the sky by the sympathy vote he has amassed.
