I definately feel the producers are pushing for a female to win this year that's for sure.

I feel a bit disappointed tonight but all the negative posts about a variety of things, but criticising Kara who has only been top of the leaderboard once before (hardly judges favourite from week one) and tonight went second not first like the OP says, is a bit ridiculous. she did the best dance so she came top, that's what happened and congratualtions to her for pulling off such a complicated routine.

At last, it has become unfixed, actually judging on what is presented in dance terms. Less manipulated than other weeks. Hence, the most deserving get to the top, Kara.

I love the threads and comments when a FM's favourite doesn't get the marks they believe they should have. I'm in full agreement with the scores tonight; Kara deserves her top spot - so far....

Kara deserved her marks tonight, she was clearly the best dancer.
Pamela was overmarked..yet again, while Matt was undermarked..yet again. Once, and it's just one of those things, twice and it's just coincidence, but three or more times ? |

You've used the wrong term.
In the, how can we put it... the sports "entertainment" business (i.e., the controlled/choreographed competitions) the proper term is "a work". The judges' remarks, ITT (and the key guests like Karen Hardy), the choice by the producer of whom to emphasize, and so on are intended to get the maximum amount of responses. By "responses" I mean viewers, phone calls, free press in the tabloids, etc. So yes, SCD is not strictly a dance competition. It is a work. |

What made me annoyed was that Aliona didn't take any of the blame and just stood there letting him be torn apart!

Yes it was very unfair.
Can't help feeling, as in other weeks that there is manipulation at work. Could even be reverse psychology - people vote for Matt out of sheer outrage over his treatment? Meanwhile......the judges continue to overmark Pamela and totally ignore ungainly, wobbly performances. Interesting...... |

Hope Pamela goes out first tonight... Team Gav (even though I know he's useless!) he will get my vote, along with Kara who I think thoroughly deserves to win! |

I felt very sorry for him. He was clearly taken aback by the comments.

Aliona should have taken the blame, but I don't think she has any insight into the fact that she is responsible for this. Pamela might not be the best, but her Paso was better than Matt's salsa (and thus deserved to be higher). |

I thought all the dances last night were under par,I did think Kara's VW and Matt's Salsa were first and second best of the night..It looks like the judges would like a Pamela and James win, they have been overmarked most weeks.

I can't even believe this thread is still alive... though thankfully the majority of posts have been sane.
If the judges wanted Kara to win why score her American Smooth a 6? If the judges wanted Kara to win why score her Tango 38, when even Karen Hardy said she'd been undermarked? Must I continue... |

I don't think they do, Matt's the Beeb's golden boy. He just didn't dance an already sub-standard routine very well. It was the two things coming together that got to him tonight I'm afraid. I blame Aliona though, not Matt.
Matt's salsa was so wooden I could not believe it having seen him perform so well before. It was the clunkiest salsa I've seen. It does seem to be Aliona's fault for the choreography though. Matt got the marks he deserved last night |
