I thought all the dances last night were under par,I did think Kara's VW and Matt's Salsa were first and second best of the night..It looks like the judges would like a Pamela and James win, they have been overmarked most weeks.
The rest were all a bit sub-par (excepting Gavin who is improving)..but I Agree with you, and think Matt was the "best of the rest". I also believe that the Judges want Pamela in the final (not necessarily to win the entire thing) and they are arranging the leader board accordingly. I guess that means Matt must be way ahead in the public vote, so they can safely mark him down without affecting his chances ? |

I don't think they do, Matt's the Beeb's golden boy. He just didn't dance an already sub-standard routine very well. It was the two things coming together that got to him tonight I'm afraid. I blame Aliona though, not Matt.

Exactly. And if anyone thinks it's been fixed for Kara to win from the start they are talking absolute rubbish. For one thing, Matt's been the bookies' favourite since the beginning. Secondly, the BBC can't influence the public vote, as a certain poster has been stridently reminding us for weeks.

Pamela did dance first, but I agree the show has been fixed for Kara to win right from the start, the same as the guy who won dancing on ice.
For as long as Gavin is still in that's where I'll throw my votes, but should he go tonight I'll be hoping for a Kara v Matt final. |

OP - I can't believe the number of anti Kara threads you've started.
What has she done to you? |

I agree with most of that..though I did think Kara was superb again last night.

No need to fix anything for Kara - she dances beautifully.
For as long as Gavin is still in that's where I'll throw my votes, but should he go tonight I'll be hoping for a Kara v Matt final. It is more to do with who the judges want to have in the semi and how they think they can ensure that . |

Very true
Matt's salsa was so wooden I could not believe it having seen him perform so well before. It was the clunkiest salsa I've seen. It does seem to be Aliona's fault for the choreography though. Matt got the marks he deserved last night ![]() There have been so many rubbish salsas in the last 4 years .This was dance gold in comparison ![]()

Just realised whose post I'm replying to. Kara is going to win so you can stop dissing the main opposition. |

If it's been a fix from the start for her to win, then how come she's been undermarked every single week?

I think that Kara deserved better marks earlier on but the judges were too busy supporting Scott. When he flagged, they probably realised that they needed to focus on how good Kara is. They're still, supporting Scott of course.
I've not been voting for Kara but it is annoying that she wasn't hailed as being b. good much earlier when she obviously was. |

If anything, apart from some rather favourable exposure on other programmes as had last year's winner, another BBC employee, Matt going last could be construed as a "fix." In that should the judges have wished according to another "conspiracy theory" they could have placed him anywhere on the leader board.
I think the BBC has also been "helpful" to Matt, in the selection of clips shown on ITT, as they were to Emma Bunton, as they didn't want her to go out before she sang (or mimed) on CIN night, but they can't influence the judges or the public vote more than that. He did himself no favours last night with a mediocre performance and his "not best pleased" reaction after it. But I think his Countryfile fans will save him tonight. Either Pam or Scott to go out with Gavin. |
