Kara's foot came off the floor at least once, possibly twice and a mark should have been deducted for that. It was a beautiful routine, but the fact that the judges had already over marked Pamela doesn't make it okay to ignore the rules.
Kara would have still been at the top of the leaderboard with four 9 and to give her three 10s just causes bad feeling and resentment. In earlier series Len would have said something along the lines of "I'm really sorry, but I can't ignore the fact that your foot came off the floor and I must deduct a point". This year everybody is going on about who got what for the same dance in a different week. That shouldn't matter. The judges should be marking what they see and apply the same rules to everybody. I just wish they'd do their jobs properly. ![]() If they want to be strict about things like this then fine but they need to do it from week 1 & be consistent throughout the series. Anyway it's only ever Craig & Len (and Arlene when she was there) that have ever been strict about this sort of stuff anyway. Bruno has never cared & suspect Alesha doesn't either (and even if she did she'd probably get a slating from some for daring to be technical with her marks). |

I did not get her VW - a lot of time out of hold, not to my particular taste
However Kara is a class act & should definitely be in the final |

Her VW was bland and had very little content and three tens was totally undeserved. She's been consistently overmarked from the beginning. Tonight just took the biscuit.

Matt and Scott and wonderful. Pamela is amazing. But Kara is an exquisite dancer and if recognising talent and beautiful dancing is bias then SO BE IT.
Her arms are something magical and spine tingling to behold. No professional has better arm control and movement. Her spins are wonderful and overall she is one hell of a dancer. She has clearly more dance in her background that some others and she has had that advantage. But that's life. So does Scott. Kara is one of those very very few we have seen on Strictly who, given a year more training, could become a professional dancer imho. |

Her foot was off the floor. She should have been penalised for an illegal lift. Instead she gets three 10s ... lunacy
![]() Deliberate overmarking by the judges who have very selective memories when it comes to noticing mistakes. Again the judges are ruining a perfectly good show. They badly need to be replaced (except for Craig - only honest judge left). And no i dont hate Kara. I think she is a fabulous dancer. But mistakes are mistakes and illegal moves are illegal moves. The judges cant give special consideration to the dancers they like ... ala Scott and Kara. |

The thing is they have let loads of stuff go all series & at least this one wasn't intentional.
If they want to be strict about things like this then fine but they need to do it from week 1 & be consistent throughout the series. Bruno has never cared & suspect Alesha doesn't either (and even if she did she'd probably get a slating from some for daring to be technical with her marks). It's only a few weeks since Len gave his little speech about applying the rules about lifts. You are right in saying that in the past the only judge who has ever ignored the lift rule is Bruno, but he got slated for doing it (e.g. Brendan). I don't think Alesha has been in this position before tbh. The judges just look incompetent by mentioning a mistake that breaks the rules and then giving a perfect 10 score. |

Don't you roll your eyes at me, how rude are you? Once it is loaded up I think you'll find you're wrong there. It was no more out of hold than Ali Bastian's perfect VW last year and Pamela's supposedly perfect on last week. It had everything you need in a VW, natural turns, reverse turns and fleckerls!!!!

It was out of hold most of the time, and her foot came off the floor. Not a perfect VW.

I take it that you are referring to Pamela and James' VW which was out of hold much more than Kara and Artem's

My dance teacher (who is a ballroom specialist) told me that in modern ballroom it is acceptable to break hold while you dance the typical steps of the dance, as long as your posture is maintained, It is actually very very difficult to do that for a sustained period of time without going off balance or losing your posture.
Kara and Artem danced a VW, NOT and AS. The majority of the dance was VW steps, and they were coming in and out of hold, which is perfectly acceptable. It was a very difficult choreography, and was danced beautifully with a great amount of control. ![]() The intricate choreography and the speed and elegance at which it was performed makes it (IMO) the best VW ever danced by a celeb on SCD. |

Starting and ending, you are allowed to be apart (i.e. be creative and not bound by the ballroom hold rule), in the middle, well, I notice in this series all the pros are breaking the rules by having some breaks from hold, thus making them all look very DWTS unfortunately.

Kara's VW was outstanding.
She has been undermarked all series & I think she is the best ever contestant on SCD. |

A bias shown towards someone who is outstandingly good ! It's better than a bias shown towards people who are mediocre.
