If Kara makes it to the final, I'll be happy.
But I'm a bit sad because I wouldn't be bothered if I never saw Matt or Scott or Pamela dance again, and I really wish that wasn't the case. |

I definitely want Kara in the final. Now I'm just so unsure about the other's.
Scott was a definite for me from week 1 until his samba week. Since he's been very lacklustre and wishy-washy. Pamela is very good in ballroom but lacks something in latin that puts me off. Matt is good in ballroom and latin but never great and there's the issue of Aliona's choreography too. I think as long as Kara is there I'll be happy with whoever else gets in (apart from Gavin of course ).

Kara must be there......and should win.
I would like the other finalists to be Matt and Scott. Gavin is fun, but not a good enough dancer to go through. I must be missing something with Pamela because I find all her latin dances really uncomfortable to watch. |

I've always found Pamela's latin dances uncomfortable to watch. And I thought her dancing tonight in the Swingathon was clumsy and laboured.

I find Matt very dull to watch, and Scott hasn't been overly consistent for me. I hope that Pam and Kara make the final. |

Matt's Samba looked a bit too loose to me, and his Salsa was Jimi-esque in terms of awkwardness. At least she has age as an excuse for her awkwardness at times.

I'm actually pretty happy with the final five.
Matt - I would like him to win. I don't think he has done a 10-worthy dance yet but I just find him a more engaging performer than the others. I get the sense that he is someone who is really willing to push himself in each performance, sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't, but I prefer his flawed performances to those which may be technically better but over-cautious. Aliona is my favourite of the female pros but her frame of reference for music choices seems to be incredibly narrow and I wish her choreography was more classic and less experimental. With a dancer like Matt she could try something different two or three times a series but not every single week. Scott - great when he is in his comfort zone and doing a dance which allows him to be masculine and take the romantic lead but too inhibited when he is asked to do anything else. One of the joys of watching Strictly is seeing rugby players, cricketers etc throw off the public perception of themselves and really let go on the dance-floor; I think Scott is capable of doing Rumba and Samba type dances but worries too much about ending up looking silly. The result is he can give self-conscious, going through the motions performances and is, therefore, not a winner for me. Kara - a lovely dancer, thought her VW was the best dance tonight, but I just can't imagine wanting to watch any of her dances again on Youtube. I find her performances consistently good but as someone else in another thread pointed out she never dances as if her life depended on it and her eyes don't always connect with Artem, the audience or the cameras, which makes such a difference to the dance. My second favourite. Pamela - I started off really liking her and still like the way she has defied expectations and proved that someone in their sixties can really dance and not just be there for comedy value or a 'journey'. However, for me her performances have become too mannered and over-acted and a bit cringeworthy to watch. In the beginning, as with her Rumba, she seemed to be able to lose herself in the dance but now everything seems too calculated. In certain dances, like the Charleston and tonight's Swingathon, she does sometimes look a bit awkward and ungainly. Gavin - I am surprised that I have actually ended up quite liking him. Not the greatest dancer, of course, but he obviously works really hard at it and wants to get better and some of his performances have been strangely enjoyable, if not actually any good. If he does get to the final I don't think I will throw a strop. |

Well, I'm not ageist. I'd never use age as an excuse for being awkward.

There are certain things that a 60 year old just can't do. That's biology, not discrimination. I think most of Pamela's Latin has been good.

No, I don't agree. Again, I'd never use age to limit someone's ability to dance elegantly. I don't enjoy watching Pamela dance. I find her dancing awkward and laboured.
I think that 30 years ago Pamela would have been as good as Kara. As it is, there are certain limitations, both with her body shape and her age. All of the contestants have their faults/limitations though. |

Dances like the jive are not elegant, and I think that's the only dance that she's really struggled with. Pamela hasn't had a problem with the elegant dances.

Kara to win. Probably Pamela 2nd...
None of the boys have that certain special something which makes me say "YESSSSS" ..... Matts dancing is great but there is something missing. If he had danced with Natalie he would have got to that status of "special" but with Alionas weird choreography he has missed out. Scottttt was nottt hotttt in the Argentine Tango - very much below desired temperature in fact. Apart from his jive and a couple of his first ballroom dances (I forget which) he has nothing to warrant him being in the last 3. And Gavin...needs to get back to Saracens...please! |

The perfect final for me would be Matt, Pamela and Kara. And don't the forget,......the best dancer usually doesn't win strictly,....
