No offence to the girl, she seems nice, but her choreography is god awful most of the time. She isn't bringing the best out of Matt, she hasn't taught him how to get into to the spirit of the different dances. I realise he is a technician by nature but it is Aliona's job to snap him out of that and to make his dancing more heartfelt.

Her routine's are also... uninspiring and laboured. I didn't watch Strictly last year but was she on then? And if she was, what was her choreography like then?

She went out in week 2 last year with Rav, so we never really got to see what her choreography was really like, but she was stuck with a pretty poor dancer last year.

But I did love Rav

Rav was plankish and Aliona tended to make the routine more about her than him - can't blame her for that.

I think Matt would be more suited to Natalie.

Nicole would have been the best for Matt, who needs someone suiting his gentle temperament.

I think calling her rubbish isn't fair. I just don't think she's worked Matt out the way the other pro's have worked out their respective partners.

He's a gentleman but he's very competitive. Like Natalie.

I also feel Scott would have fared better with Aliona, both a bit bonkers.

Someone posted early on that Matt would fail because of Aliona's choreography. He is by far the best dancer and such a nice bloke;. I hope she has done a lot of thinking about tomorrow's dance.

I feel the two girlsl will be in the final. I would like to think that the other one would be Matt. Fingers crossed. Such a joyful character.

I just feel that nobody should be shooting Aliona for that. She's doing a good job shooting herself on her foot every week. And today she actually allowed her lousy choreography to wound Matt's morale. Well done, woman!

I agree. I think her choreography on it's own isn't the worst, but it's only good for her with another dancer. She doesn't seem to make adjustments for Matt's strengths and limitations, and it shows.

I think she's too stubborn to change things now

Sense when is stiffness in dancing Aliona's fault. it's so boring blaming everything that goes wrong in Matt's dancing on Aliona.

Matt's a fantastic dancer - it's her choreography.
She's not showing him off to the best of his ability

I seem to remember Aliona getting criticised for her choreography last year in her brief stay in the competition.

She is kooky, but not in the league of the other girl pros when it comes to sorting out routines. The judges never seem to praise her for the routines at all.

I think it's a combination of the two. Her choreography is unusual and badly placed but he is also very unfeeling, clinical and stiff in his dancing. But he does have some ability. It's her fault more than anyone else's that he hasn't been able to tap into it - because she hasn't taught or pushed him to.

i think it's a bit of both - I don't get much emotion from him and find some of their dances odd, quite frankly (how much jive in that routine? 30% if that?)

I'm sorry, I normally just lurk these boards, but I don't see Tangerine_82 bashing Matt anywhere in their post

In fact I quite agree.

I've read before that the pro's find out what the celebs are good at and what they are not, in this case I don't believe Aliona has taken the slightest notice of what Matt is good at and not played to his strengths. The dance tonight was really bad and I believe it could have been a lot better.

I completely agree..I would have loved to see Matt with someone else!

Gentlle Matt is terrified of Aliona snapping,
"Shut the f**k up."

Oh for heaven's sake. Can't we ban the childishness? I'm sorry I don't worship your favourite, I can't help seeing things the way I do. If all you have to respond to me with is childish huffiness, then please, refrain

Lack of arm movement, which was criticised, is down to her choreography.

Maybe its because English is not her first language and so she is not getting the subtext of what the judges are telling them. The judges need to be more upfront, I think and keep telling them it's the choreography.

She's also like Artem, Russian, they're very unemotional and sometimes lack humour, Artem though seems to be able to choreograph emotion into his routines, Aliona is struggling more with it.

I'm just tired now of being frustrated with Aliona's choreography and I'm not expecting anything to change. She was really lucky to escape a pounding last week too as there was very little jive content in that jive, they ripped Brendan to pieces for it but Aliona escaped, at least if they'd have done this last week, she would have been able to change.

How is Matt going to dance tomorrow having had his confidence destroyed?

I think Aliona's just a bit stubborn Alli

That's the impression I got on ITT once when Claudia mentioned that the judges questioned Aliona's choreography and she basically said she was going to carry on doing it her way.

Compare her to Natalie who also joined last year and got criticised for her choreography but quickly learnt to alter her approach.

Exactly. I wish Aliona will NOT return next series. She's just too selfish to help any celeb reach their potential.
