I was trying to find the most sympathetic reason as she's taking a bit of a pounding, a deserved one, but a pounding none the less.

It's fine to do it your way if everyone gets what you're trying to do, but no-one's getting it.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if he gets amazing scores for his tango though. Judges are very contrary creatures.

I commend your tact and diplomacy lol

I think they will comeback with a strong Tango and a healthy score to accompany it.

Increasingly, I feel like what the judges say and do is done to stir up drama and create talking points. They were probably extra harsh on Matt deliberately so as to make tomorrow night's comeback a bigger deal.

Choreography for jive was very poor - too much faffing around (to use a Len phrase!) and not enough dancing. The same could be said of tonight. Poor Matt - he deserves better. Perhaps Karen Hardy could come and help them out if he gets to the final??

I really like aliona and know little about dance but even I can see some of her choreography isn't working for him. I do feel we'd have seen some brilliant dances from him had he been partnered with someone like flavia or Erin.

I feel he has so much ability there already and she hasn't tapped into it well.

Thank you. And you're right, I didn't 'bash' him lol. But it doesn't seem to register

I've sent a note to the mods to remove this thread as it consists of spam.

You didn't bash him, to be sure. But I seem to like to disagree with you. Well, partly because you can take it.

I'm just tired now of being frustrated with Aliona's choreography and I'm not expecting anything to change. She was really lucky to escape a pounding last week too as there was very little jive content in that jive, they ripped Brendan to pieces for it but Aliona escaped, at least if they'd have done this last week, she would have been able to change.”

I don't think the judges can really do much more other than say live on air your choreography is rubbish sort it out They have tried subtly hinting most weeks (work on arms, hips, somethings missing, more content etc) but Aliona seems to take no notice I don't think she'd know good choreography if it hit her in the face tbh. She always seems to underwhelm me unfortunately and I can't recall a single routine that she has been praised for

I agree too Sid She doesn't take well to criticism and I think this is rubbing off on Matt too I can understand that maybe Aliona sees it as going for viewer impact rather than impressing the judges with their routines, but if this is the case, they shouldn't really complain when they don't get rave reviews from the judges. Matt in particular seems to be really annoyed or never let it drop when they do get criticised and asks what more can they do? Surely he must know deep down it's their choreography letting them down.

Seriously, Paul, just because you like Aliona irrationally doesn't mean contrary comments are spam.

I like her, and she's the professional dancer not Matt lol how can he be better? She's probably doing the best she can with him.

I would've loved if he had been partnered with Flavia, think they would've made a great team. Aliona kept looking at Matt tonight all through the comments I thought and didn't look like she was taking them on herself.

Opinion, not spam.

I feel aliona has so much potential herself to be honest but something is holding her back.

She was praised for her charleston and samba, to be fair...

Agree, especially as much of what they were saying was really for Aliona to take notice of.

From his brilliant start Matt should be so much better than he is by now.

Lol, and that I have no problem with Good natured discussion and disagreement is not a bad thing in my opinion. I grew up with a big brother. If I can take remote controls aimed at my head, I can take anything

Now that she who shall not be named has gone I thought all my irritation would subside but I can feel it bubbling up again with Aliona.

What is she thinking of?

If I was Mrs Matt I would be paying a visit to the dance studio and having a quiet word

I can't recall the comments for those dances so apologies if I'm wrong, but I thought it was more along the lines of good routine Matt in relation to his performance etc of it not in the sense of good routine choreography wise to Aliona.

I know that when other pros have been acknowledged for good choreography the judges have specifically tried to make a deliberate point of it but can't remember this happening to Aliona. Apologies if I am wrong

Nope! Aliona has tried her best for Aliona and no-one else. That's why so many of us have a problem with her Paul, it's not that we dislike her or Matt, we recognise he has talent, but she's choreographing to her strengths, not his.
