HATED it!

Camera kept switching. Everyone looked like they were making it up as they went along. Gavin had to be dragged off the floor virtually- LOL!

No more please...

It was worth it if only to see Artem and Kara dying from lack of breath lol. They looked hilarious when they finished - no showboating, just I AM DYING!

But yes, it was a bit of a mess. Kartem were fab and Matt & Aliona were good too but we didn't get to see enough of either of them unfortunately. There should be dancer-cam available, like you get in sport with player-cam lol.

It reminded me of the school dance contest in Grease!

I quite enjoyed it, it was different, although I was a bit miffed with Scott being voted out second

That's exactly what I said to my OH, Sid - and I really liked it for that reason.
Matt hasn't been one of my faves (though I do think he's very good and admire his enthusiasm), however, I thought he was the best in this and would have come first if he hadn't got tired out. Kara and Artem deserved the win for keeping going, though.

I agree - didn't understand how Pamela stayed longer than Scott.

With those shoes, Pamela looked like a traffic warden at the staff Christmas party.

It was a complete mess from start to finish. If this is yet another bright idea to americanise the show then Heaven help us.

If anybody at the Beeb has any sense they'll make this the first and last Swingathon!!

That's exactly what they were.

It all seemed pretty pointless. I think the order in which they went out was exactly the order that everybody would have predicted beforehand.

It was a stupid idea that should never have made it out of the think tank.

The camerawork meant that we could not see all of the couples, but what I saw was a mess - even Kara didn't look that great.
We saw very little of Scott, so although Pamela looked bad, it is possible Scott was worse, but I did expect Pamela to be second out.

It was possibly the worst dance they could have chosen for a group dance.

I hated it, hope they dont do it again. No way should Scott have gone before Pamela.

That was like, two minutes after Matt's done that disaster of a salsa. No recovery time, or not enough, thus he Matt out, no max out before the end of the 2:30 minutes...

I'd be very surprised if the Swingathon was live. Surely it was recoreded earlier? As the pro-dances always are.

I'm sort of pleased to hear that because I'd been out for a works do, hurried back for Strictly and then fell asleep during the swingathon!

Nope, definitely live. Because right after Matt got a mauling for his salsa, Tess said 'go change quick for the swingathon' and they rushed off, then cue in the VT, some rubbish talk from Brucie and Tess to buy time, and there they were all changed and doing the swingathon!

They could have put some pro dance routine before it to give Matt more time to recover, but I liked it. I liked evil Brucie trying to get some word out of Artem at the end

How could anything that is called a Swingathon ever be anything other than a mess?

Swingathons always look a mess ! Not sure there is any way of capturing them satisfactorily on camera so that TV viewers can see who's doing what.

Complete waste of time and almost impossible to say which couple danced best because of poor camera work.

The Swingathon was a deliberate ploy to give the judges the opportunity of awarding points to put the competitors in the order that they think they should be, regardless of the public vote. The new producer may be many things, but not daft. It would certainly have seen the end of Ann had she still been in.

This is why Kara is in the unassailable position she should be to be included in the final after tonight.
Either Scott or Pam to go out with Gavin.

Matt's Coutryfile fans will save him.

What I liked about it was that you could actually see, well, I could, who were the best dancers, in order.

I watched closely and was pretty much in agreement, though Scot/Pam were debatable perhaps, and Matt was knackered to start with.

It was messy, but made it obvious that Kara and Matt were the best dancers.
