Feel really sorry for Matt
Becker

... that he is dancing with Aliona. She can't choreograph routines at all, and it's quite clear from the judges' comments that their issues are with the choreography. Near enough every week they are pulled up about it and she just appears to be like "oh, whatever". It really is quite disappointing as Matt is clearly quite talented but I doubt he'll win with her.

P.S I'm a Kara fan.

I think Aliona's choreography has let Matt down a lot, but that wasn't the main problem with his Salsa - he just didn't dance very well. He doesn't seem to have a good instinct about what will look nice and his body looked awkward throughout the dance.

I think people are blaming Aliona because they can't face the truth - Matt is good, but he's very overrated on here.

I feel bad for Matt he has the worst partner.

I feel sorry for Matt too but I'm convinced he will get a place in the final, despite his low place on the leaderboard.

Well Mr Geeky's likely to win due his sensitive nature last night.
Seems a lot will vote his way as they feel sorry for him. Just been reading Mail online comments to see that. Personally I'd vote for the best dancer, strange as it may seem. I can't feel sorry for Matt, as he was too over confident from the start, and he won't starve as runner up. I can't believe anyone voting for an overpaid TV presenter just because they received low marks.

My sympathy lies with Jimmy Mistry who should be there, rather than gollumping Gavin.
Gavin's dancing is to my singing. It sounds ok in my head, but everyone says it's terrible. He's obviously a likeable dolt as seen by everyone's reaction to him. Or maybe because he's no threat.

Anyway, for those who haven't seen it, Gavin on Moylses quiz show.

I agree to some extent but I guess the unanswered question is could another pro have been more successful in helping him get over some of those problems? Maybe Matt needs someone who has a more subtle, sensitive approach (I wonder for example how he would had done with Katya).

I love Aliona as a personality, but I haven't liked her choreography and think she has yet to prove herself as a teacher.

That's true. Aliona was clearly shocked at the comments, which is a bit baffling. Surely she should have known that he was struggling?

Well, there is still a long way to go with this but I'm quite proud of the SCD expert on our site - she tipped Matt to go this week at 25/1!!!

I think the judges need to just come out and say it to Aliona directly. And for god sake have the sense not to invite her back next year - she's the weakest of the additions from last year. She's a great dancer, you just have to look at the pro routines she did with Matt Cutler last year, but for sure he must have choreographed those.

I can't work out if she is to thick or too arrogant to realise sshe needs to change tack.

I don't know - just wondring, is Aliona fixated on the American show showdance thing ? If she is, she should have cottoned on a while back that it's not working. Having said that, Matt doesn't deserve what the judges are throwing at him. They weren't hard on Scotttt, when he had to be led around by the neck for 90 seconds. What a farce, it's becoming.

I don't think it's all down to the choreography. The trouble with him is he's too bandy and stretchy. Too much of his gymnastics movements come out in his dancing. Last night wasn't a great salsa particularly when you look back at Mark Ramprakash's in 2006. I think Matt could go this weekend it's between him and Scott for a place in the final and I just think Scott is more likely to run Kara close than Matt will.

It's a tactic. She has remarked before that it's the public she has to please, not the judges. Her job is to get him to the final. It's quite deliberate to include elements that are going to sail close to the wind with the judges but look good on camera like flips. It gets public votes and she avoids being seen as judges favourite - a tag that can kill your public vote. Chris won last year without being the judges top scorer for any dance round between the first week and final.
