What brand do you buy? Do you ever buy more than one brand or always stick to just one make?

Heinz just don't seem as good to me as they used to be so I buy Branston now. Seem to have more beans and thicker richer sauce. HP are nice too. My 15 year-old daughter likes beans too but will only eat Heinz.

I just get cheapo stuff. I think it's asda in the cupboard at the moment.

I usually stick a squirt or two of something in them. BBQ sauce, soy, chilli, worcestershire etc.

Infact, had some earlier and sprayed in some bbq marinade (liquid smoke). Very nice indeed.

I buy whichever are on special offer that week - its most often Branston!

I prefer Heinz though, because they have the nice easy-open ringpull cans.

I buy Heinz but also like to jazz them up as the mood strikes me.

Heinz for me. The cheap ones are hard and the sauce is horrid.

I find that the beans in heinz are nice and soft to suit me, but the sauce in Branstons is nicer so I guess I'm between a rock and a hard place. I can beleive I'm on here talking about the consistency of baked beans!

My only comment is not to buy the reduced salt kind. I'm quite tolerant of food with little or no salt but baked beans taste awful without it.

I know all the health concerns but I only eat beans every few weeks or so.

Asda / Tesco own brand - not the ones with reduced sugar because they taste awful. To improve the flavour of cheaper baked beans you can add tomato puree - makes them richer.

Heinz, with some added zing. I normally make my own version of the mean beanz by adding a bit of smoked paprika, some cumin, some cayenne pepper, some chilli poweder and some black pepper. Yum!

I've always been a Heinz gal - and I think those fridge pots look kinda nifty - but lately I've been 'turned' by Branston.

Weightwatchers beans are a lot like Heinz and are actually quite tasty - and obviously a bit lower in cals.

Heinz for me too, though I never use the ring pull - I turn the can upside down and use a tin opener.

How much do they cost in Britain nowadays? (Av sized tins).

I love Heinz but it's hard to find them here (330Yen ie. about two quid fifty a pop). There is a version of Tesco near me but their own brand beans aren't as good and are hardly cheap at 200Yen a go (normal sized tin).

There are always offers in different stores for multipacks, which usually work out somewhere near 30p per tin. I never buy them individually at full price, but I think it's nearer 60p if you just pick one up on its own.

Thanks!

30p per tin? Last time I was in Britain I bought 2 or 3 multipacks to haul back out here in my hand luggage - worked out at 25p/tin for Heinz. I guess that's inflation.

I found last month in Tokyo for only 100yen a pop a brand from Italy called Fiamma vesuviana - they're awful though, couldn't finish half a tin!

Tesco value beans at 29p works for me. I buy Heinz if I find them on the reduced price shelf.
